Spicely Organic Chili Ancho Powder 0.45 Ounce ecoBox Certified Gluten Free

I have to make my own chili powder because of an allergy, but I don't miss the store-bought versions at all. This stuff is awesome for making chili powder and taco seasoning. I can't handle much heat, and I love that this has such great flavor without the painful burning.

I was reluctant, not knowing what to expect. I'm glad I took the chance.Ancho chili is a spice that instantly recalls flavors of Mexico and the US desert SW. But it's not -hot-. I've added it to make chili, sure, but also in any other recipe where I'd like to add a little extra southwestern pizzazz from some seafood recipes to macaroni and cheese.Now that I have it, I won't ever be without it. It's now an essential in my kitchen.

This arrived quickly and was very fresh. It was packed in a glass jar. We had never had this type of ground chili, but it has become a new favorite. We would probably give it a medium low on the hotness scale. It is definitely something that should be tried if one is a fan of chilies. It is also very pure, and dye free. We have allergies to many fillers and some dyes, so it can sometimes be hard to find something we do not have an allergic reaction to. This passed our eating test with flying colors--no allergic reactions!!

This is a great spice for just about anything you're making. I tossed some in soup....and yum. I then used it in a port stew and once again yummy! Glad I added this to the spice rack. Its a mild deep pepper favor, not hot, but it lets you know its there.

Oddly, the few reviews this product has received point to a falsehood, asserting it is not organic. In fact, it is and says so on the label and displays the USDA Organic symbol, as well - the most prestigious organic certification. Completely apart from the organic or not debate, I've been using the various chili powder products in the Spicely line for years and consider them to be one of the best in the marketplace for flavor, consistency and value - especially when purchased in larger quantity containers.

Used this in my butt rub recipe, makes my food taste great. Little bit of clumping in the bottom of the jar but I think that's due to me leaving the jar open for a bit.

Bought this for a friend who wanted just Chili Powder with no other spices. Found this here for her and she loves it. Probably going to buy one for myself when I need more.
