If you see the pictures, this just lets the spring slide down over the ground stud. If you can do the same with the above ground cover, it will work. A large screwdriver will accomplish the same thing.

Q: How deep is the notch in the head?

Can’t quite answer but some of the rings it had to pass through had been narrowed after years of servicde and would not fit so we reverted to our shorter one.

Q: How long is the Warranty?
