Wire nuts not enough
I have an invisible dog fence around my 5 acre ranch in order to protect my 3 dogs. When the wire breaks I can find it without much trouble. However, when a connection becomes lose or rotten it is almost impossible to find. These connectors protect the water from getting to the bare wire and causing a nearly undetectable short. For the company to replace half the wire on my ranch they wanted $850. I doubled the distance and used thicker wire with these connectors for less than half the price.
