Insignia - 50W Bluetooth CD Compact Shelf System - Black

This is a nice versatile compact shelf stereo. Best Buy sometimes has these on sale for around $100 which is a great deal.Bluetooth connection is automatic, USB drive, CD player and FM tuner work well. There are also Aux in RCA jacks and a headphone output on the back of the receiver.The remote that comes with the unit controls most functions like tuning the radio, Equalizer settings, etc, so don't lose the remote!This receiver puts out 50 watts total of undistorted sound. There is very little white noise present that's only noticeable when there is no music playing.The system's included bass-reflex speakers are surprisingly good. The grills are removable, showing a four inch woofer with rubber surround and a soft dome tweeter set in a piano black gloss front panel. The speaker's enclosures are sturdy with rounded corners and a decent quality vinyl woodgrain wrap, they look and sound a lot like the high-rated Micca MB42 speakers.For some reason Insignia decided to screw four big white non skid feet onto the bottom of the black speakers which looks a bit odd(they do keep the speakers firmly planted and can be painted or removed).The Insignia NS- SH513 is a versatile compact shelf system that will look and sound very good in your bedroom or office space.I added a pic of the Insignia stereo with the well matched Acoustic Audio CS PS8 subwoofer(all grills off):

Would Like To Say I know Sound And Music, Many would Trust My Opinion, bought to replace another small stereo that Was just that , A boom box type that cost around 40.00 After doing my research I chose this Stereo, Great unit, Great Look, Good Sound for the money With Several Sound Settings With EQ, Buy new one like i did , I bought this unit at a fantastic price, Below 80 .00 of the ones you may find here Lucky The Day i bought mine Here on Amazon You may see Units sell from anywhere tob 80.00 to 150.00 Depending on where you buy it If you can Find This Unit for 100 .00 and even Less Which Most Likely will be the case Then Jump on it Happy Listening!!

This is a great shelf system. For the price it's solid and well made.Pros: FM, CD, Bluetooth, AUX and USB so it can play anything out there. Stays cool at low and mid volume. CD player sounds really good, USB plays with no glitches and the Bluetooth streams with no weird glitches like on those cheapo BT speakers. A lot of thought went into designing this.FM tuner has poor rejection. It cannot be placed near any computer. The supplied antenna makes it worse. Once hooked up to a proper external antenna it's fine and pulls in all the local stations clearly. The lo/dx and mono/stereo selectors are a big help.The issues I have is that without the remote you will be SOL so to say. So don't lose it! AND it will sound better with a pair of Dayton Audio 2 way bookshelf speaker system.

I plugged the system in, it said loading for about 10 minutes. The system didn't do anything at all after that. Returned for refund.

The sound is good enough, but my complaint is that the USB flash drive feature does not allow shuffle or random song play. If you have 150 songs on the stick and you quit at 47, the next day you have to remember where you left off and manually forward to 48 to hear songs you haven't heard before. Either that or start at 1 and hear everything again. Makes the USB port worthless.

Good sound for money. Nice bedroom system with Bluetooth. Unfortunately it has an over-eager Auto PowerOff that kicks in after only about 5 minutes whenever there's no audio signal, and (of course) drops the Bluetooth connection. So you have to power up and wait for the connection to sync everytime this happens. If that isn't a concern for you then add a star. I find it very annoying.

Great sound, pairs easy with bluetooth. Works great with USB. If I were to buy a different model, I'd get one that displayed the mp3 artist and title information. The collating sequence it uses is different than the order on the USB drive. Probably someone didn't know their ASN-1 that well. Still, for the $80 I paid for it, it is a great product.

You can not beat this price and the quality. Love it
