Quality Products.
Everything Shoyeido makes I have not had a single problem with; The incense are easy to live with day to day. the aroma's they give off are Strong, but easy to be around (not overpowering like cheaper incense). the use of higher quality materials in production are very clear. (beware, the stem style is different from traditional incense; No little wooden stem on bottom, all incense, for all of Shoyeido's products.. Compensate for that before hand and you will love it.)I personally have over 15 different products from Shoyeido and I can say; whether you burn them individually; or try pairing certain ones; they just plain work.

Love Shoyeido but not this scent
The media could not be loaded. Scent is a very personal preference, this one is not for me.It has a dense animalic undertone that I find overwhelming.. perhaps the agarwood.I find this to be a particularly robust scent for Japanese incense, which is usually somewhat delicate. That being said, it’s still Shoyeido! You can tell the packaging and incense itself, are fantastic quality.Shoyeido puts a lot of care into their products, I consider them artisans in their craft.I’ve noticed Shoyeido has different quality brackets… even their most basic styles, the “economy” versions are top notch and far exceed most brands I’ve tried. This particular scent, Ohjya-koh, “King’s Aroma” is one of their higher-end scents, so it’s a bit pricier.I read on another site this contains agarwood (though I can’t verify), frequently referred to as Oud..Oud is an expensive ingredient and would contribute to the price. If you are a fan of Oud, you like robust woodsy animalic scents or just want to dare to try something new.. give this a try!Not for me, but WOULD recommend!

Great for sensitive people as well
I love Shoyedo incenses despite my very sensitive reactions to incense. That one doesn’t creat headaches.

So, so.
Don’t love it, but don’t hate it. Smells like maple syrup minus the maple.

Smells like charcoal to me.
I've used quite a few incenses from Japan, and from Shoyeido specifically. I was surprised to find their premium line of incense on Amazon for so cheap! (nearly half the price listed on their website) Needless to say I was a bit skeptical but ordered a few scents from their premium line anyways. The packaging is fantastic. The incense comes wrapped in paper in a small bamboo box that is sleeved by a thick cardboard box containing the logo and name of the scent. I'm not sure if this specific scent is meant to be used outside, but it was very strong compared to what I expected from Shoyeido and it was overpowering. My nose isn't the most sensitive and I can usually only make out about one or two scents from incense. This one smelled like burning charcoal and smoke. I didn't like this one at all and had to douse the tip of the stick ~1 minute into the burn.
