TC ElectronicHall of Fame 2 Mini

Good value if it's the sound you need.
I bought this unit in order to add tonal options to an acoustic 12-string guitar in a duo with a harpist. It does that job well.In an effects loop you can set it to fully wet on the "mix" knob and have a decent shimmer available. I'd use a volume pedal in the loop with it. The thing about the "mix" knob is that on max you lose the straight guitar signal. That's why an FX loop can be so handy. You keep control over the guitar signal. The "reverb" knob controls how long the shimmer lasts. On maximum that's a long long time. So maxing the "reverb" and "mix" knobs gives you an ocean of sound and time to think. The "tone" knob affects the effect, not the dry signal, which is how it should be. On minimum it goes very dark, and close to an ordinary reverb, but the octave shimmer is still there if you listen for it. Many demos of shimmer units fail to show how good the dark tones can be, but they can be entrancing. On maximum tone the effect is clear, light but not too brittle."Shimmer" controls the pause before the effect comes in. It goes from immediate to moderate, nothing weird. You could say the Fluorescence is a one-trick pony with niche appeal but, for the money, the quality is fine. I'll be using it for reverb options that are just a bit brighter and more interesting than those built into my acoustic guitar amplifiers. For a little bit more money you can have some fascinating and versatile shimmer units. I can recommend the TC Hall of Fame 2 and the Joyo Atmosphere, which I use for cosmic music. To enhance music that sticks closer to acoustic sounds, this modest little box is worth a look.

Nice digital reverb!
Very nice little digital reverb. Spring (not brilliant), Plate (very nice) and Hall (does the job).Controls are a bit odd. The MIX knob controls the amount of reverb you hear. The REVERB knob controls how strong the reverb effect is, even if you're not hearing it because your MIC knob is dialed down. I hope that makes sense. I admit, it took a hot minute for me to grasp the idea. One downside is that on the clean channel of my amp it hisses a bit. It's silent on the dirty channel which is what I play on anyway!Overall I'd recommend this for a very (very, very) well built no frills digital reverb.

Stopped Working after 45 minutes
Nice sounds provided the mix was at 9 o'clock or less (above this way too splashy for me). However my first try out the pedal went completely dead (ie no sound whatsoever) after 45 minutes. Fortunately seemingly true bypass and not gigging otherwise could have been a real problem. Another reviewer seems to have had a similar problem so I have returned for a refund. A shame what seems to be a really well built and good value pedal presumably must have serious build quality issues......

Sky surfer Hiss on activating
The reverbs are ok. But the pedal is REALLY noisy. A lot of unwanted hiss after activating.I’d recommend saving up for something better. Also I’ve since discovered these pedals are rebranded Behringer pedals. Makes sense if they just bought TC Electronic

Disappointed .
I,m a big fan of T C Electronic,s effects but this just was,nt for me.My main bug bear was the inability to switch off the shimmer effect altogether , if you want to use this pedal in reverb mode only forget it .Usual great build quality from T.C.
