Great for reenactors or general outdoorsmen
This knife is a near exact replica of the M3 fighting knife. The blade is excellent, and the leather sheath is very good quality. It's lightweight yet strong.

Very Nice Replica
I bought mine directly from IMA. Same price and same shipping cost. The only thing that I can compare it to is the Ontario M3. Reading the reviews several people have complained about the strength of the steel and the quality of the handle. Now lets talk about the IMA reproduction. I don't own and original M3 so I can only assume that the sheath and knife are the right size and weight. The overall quality is superb; I didn't give it a five because I haven't tested the blade other than shred paper.Mine looks like it was just issued. The sheath is well made, good stitching, riveting and thick flawless leather. The leather plate riveted at the bottom is intended to retain the knife, if you have strapped it own upside down and want to unfasten the snap retainer without the knife falling out. It works as advertised. Just enough tension to stop it from falling out and not enough to impeded a smooth draw. It is the only knife that I own that does that so well. They are usually too loose or tight, by design. The blade is suppose to be "razor" sharp. It was not but it was sharp enough to shred paper. It looks so good that I haven't gotten up the nerve to scratch it by sharpening it. But it was blacken as the K-bar blade was and it fasten snugly to the handle. The handle is made of leather washers and is very tight. It looks like is was carved out of a solid block.I don't intend to kill zombies with this. If I did I would probably get the Gerber Mark II, which is suppose to be a modern version of this.

Best WWII design
The original M3 was perhaps the most successful utility knife design to come out of WWII. It is much stronger than the Fairbairn-Sykes and not as clunky as the K-Bar. I bought this one intending to machine saw teeth into the spine and protect the leather washer grip with poly. . Both plans worked, and it is now perfect for winter mountaineering in the Northern Rockies.

The knife is pretty decent.
My only issues with the knife are that the one i received, is a full tang but the handle does not fit tightly in between the gaurd and metal plate at the end of the handle, because of this issue it makes it difficult to pull the knife from the leather sheath and the handle feels like if you used it it would snap because it is not firmly held in place. To fix this i had to cut a washer in have that was slightly bigger than the gap and jammed it in between to keep the handle from moving around. I would have wanted to exchange it but the company only does it so you have to return it and repurchase it and i did not feel like dealing with that in case i received another knife with the same issues to avoid wasting time. Second, the leather sheath looks like it is of good quality, but the metal plate that is near the bottom of the sheath makes it kind of annoying to pull the knife out and put it back in because it is a very tight fight.Overall the blade looks nice and feels pretty sharp and if the handle fit better on the knife, i would have rated this 5 stars. This blade also seems a lot better than the other m3's on amazon because it is not made in China and its made from much better steel.

but the knife is sloppy and looks like a drunk ape beat it out of scrap metal ...
Cheap india knockoff. the sheath was well made, but the knife is sloppy and looks like a drunk ape beat it out of scrap metal with a rock. the boker china knock offs are at least symmetrical and they attempt to look like the real deal. the OKC knives are a bit rough but they are good american steel and can be sharpened to a usable blade and they are cheaper. All in all, pass

Five Stars
An accurate replica of the original. Still a serviceable fighting and utility knife.

Overpriced
Ya 49.95 would be more like it and 7 bucks to ship is more real, but these greedy guys need I say more. NOT ever again IMA

Don’t over expect
The knife is replica so it’s lighter weight and not as tough as a Ka bar or Boker. The price point should be lower.
