Porcelain Crowns - Beware!
This works very well for removing plaque on natural teeth, but do not get it anywhere near porcelain crowns. It chipped off the porcelain from a crown, leaving an unsightly (and very expensive) problem to fix! There should have been something stating that it’s not intended for porcelain crowns on the product descriptions or instructions, but there isn’t. I would never have used it had I known!

Skeptical at first, but now I’m a believer... here’s why
Well, when I bought this device, I didn’t know what to expect, based on the reviews. I kept my expectations pretty low as there were a couple of reviews that implied that it didn’t work well.I’m still not quite sure how it works, but it definitely DOES work. There’s really no indication that anything’s happening when you turn it on. However, when you touch it to your teeth, there’s a barely audible high-pitch sound, and any plaque buildup on your teeth simply seems to melt away. I was shocked at how quick and easy it was. Those metal dentist tools are old relics now. Also, there’s a light that comes on at the top of the device to illuminate the area that you’re cleaning. It annoyed me at first, but it really makes a big difference compared to not having the light. Nice feature!Only down-side that I see is that you need to charge with usb cable. Not the most convenient, but I can live with it. It doesn’t appear to pull much power, so a full charge should last a month (according to owner manual... but I just used it for the first time, so we’ll see).Best use if probably when you’re in between dentist visits and want to get rid of that plaque buildup at the base of the front bottom teeth near your salivary glands, then this is the tool for you.NOTE: I did NOT have any interest in the teeth whitening feature, so I can’t speak to that. It’s an even more awesome tool if that works (and you need it).Definitely recommend.

Blown away
Ok, no reason to beat around the bush.. I was raised with bad dental habits that have been extremely hard to break out of as an adult. I understand that I need to "get over it", but I always find dentist visits slipping down the list of things I have to get around to. I'm aware of this and working on it.Anyway, I'm currently a few years out from my last dental visit and I found myself with thick, hard, calculus build up- to the point where that's now contributing to my list of excuses not to go, not to mention contributing to social anxiety. So one day I got the idea to research home solutions,.. maybe something that could at least help *a little* would make me feel better. I found this item and the reviews seemed to lean heavily positive, so I gave it a shot.It arrived today, and I am totally. blown. away.As soon as I put this against the first tooth, I could see tartar breaking down to almost a paste or gel. I started at the lowest setting, fearing a rough vibration against my teeth, but to my surprise, this thing feels completely gentle to the point where you really can't feel it at all.. but you do hear the vibration through your teeth. At this point, I expected some improvement so I kept working at it. I ended up at the middle strength setting and it was still very comfortable. Then - after a few minutes came the aha moment - the calculus deposit on that tooth cracked into pieces and simply fell off. I was shocked, and at that moment, I knew I was going to end the day with clean, or at least, clean*er* teeth.I got a few more minutes of use and then the power started to fade - I was using this straight from the box without having charged it first, which the instructions do tell you to do. So I set it to charge and went to eat dinner. I came back to work on my teeth later in the night, and while none of the others went as quickly as the first, I did eventually clear all of the visible calculus from all of my bottom teeth. My tops are not as bad, and I will tackle them later on, as well as the crevices. I'm telling you, it was BAD, and to be able to clear years of build up in only about an hour to maybe 90 minutes, at home, was amazing to me. Life changing. It goes without saying that this is not a replacement for going to the dentist, but it's certainly a great tool to help people like me or even just people who want to stay on top of build up between normal visits.

Very Impressed
Wow this thing is amazing. I usually use a manual tooth scaler to clean between professional cleanings, but this thing brings it to a whole new level. Honestly, if this is the technology the dentist has then it makes you wonder what all those medical costs are for because this thing makes it stupid easy. You stick it on your teeth and it magically turns on and starts cleaning. It's really not so harsh, the scrapping noise just is annoying. I only used this once, so I can't comment yet on the quality of the product as to how long it will last, but it seems pretty decently built and all some nice accessories in the box. Let's face it, it's cheap, but for the price it's absolutely amazing that this thing can somehow detect hardness and turn on. Really impressive.
