Can't tighten motor to base
It was a disappointment from the beginning. trying to tighten the motor to the base was a problem, It's a "screw on". After a few turns it snaps loose. I could not get it tight enough to adjust the direction of the flow. Finally piled up some rocks to hold the motor up.

Electrocuted me!!! Small shock
Top of the water was shocking me when I put my Hands in. Fish were fine, but the very top of the water would electrocute you. Just a tiny shock unplugged everything one by one and it’s definitely the fan. Was a great low powered fan for 29 gallon until that happened. Just one year after purchase 13 months to be exact.

Junk
UPDATE: THE FREAKING MOTOR PIN WORE IN HALF after just a few months use. I have others that I bought a year before that are still going.. I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHERhad it in the tank for a couple of months. It does a great job of moving the water..

You get what you pay for
I purchased the 1800gph pump. When I opened the box, it didn't feel flimsy. It had some weight to it so I thought maybe it will be ok. I've always gotten Hydor Koralia 1950gph pumps, but they've been discontinued. One of mine finally died after about 9 years. There are newer models. but they are a little pricey. This pump looked pretty decent, and it was only $25.99, so stupid me, I ordered another one. It turned out to be a waste of over $50.First, there is no way it is 1800 gallons per hour. Maybe they mean 1800 quarts per hour. Even if it is at full power, it really doesn't do much at all. I got the initial pump to circulate the water in my 65-gallon RO/DI reservoir tank. I put Seachem Equilibrium and alkaline buffer in when the tank is full. Half of the additives end up resting on the bottom. I could hardly tell that the pump was running. It has the same flow whether you turn it all the way up, or all the way down. My old pumps turned the reservoir into a whirlpool. It wasn't long before it started turning off. Then it just died. That was only three weeks in, if that. I put the second one in, and although this one is running for three months now, I can only feel the flow if I put my hand right in the front of the pump. Also, it has no front guard. It seems like many of the pumps don't have that now. Since the flow is so slow though, a fish would be able to swim right into it.It does have a great magnet. It's real strong. You have to put the back part on the outside and put the inside part six inches or so away from it, then slide them toward each other. This magnet could easily crack an aquarium if you aren't careful. Both pumps are very quiet. Probably because they are only pushing 300gph.So, you get what you pay for. I learned my lesson. Do yourself a favor. Invest in a good pump. My Koralia pumps were $50 a piece when I got them...but one I had for 9 years and the other one is still running.

Great powerful pump for cheap
I used it in a 75 gallon briefly while I was redoing my reef to get rid of an anthelia infestation n my main tank. It worked great creating flow for my corals while I was getting their home fixed up. Now it works great as a mixing pump in my RODI/salt mixing bin. Great little pump.
