the app will crash (it would have been better if the app says the file is not compatible)
It works as it should. The problem with loading a video on IOS is not Wifi Disk's issue but IOS. IOS can only play certain format, MOV and MP4. If you try to play MKV or AVI, the app will crash (it would have been better if the app says the file is not compatible). Therefore, you have to convert the file first to make it IOS compatible. There is an app called File Explorer for free that can also access the wifi disk and it also claims, if you buy the full version, that it can play MKV, AVI and other formats. I haven't done this since I convert my files to MP4.I installed this on my car so the kids can stream videos. It works without issues. It can also work as a network map drive on windows. Transfer speed is also decent.update: I purchase the full version of the app, file explorer. Now, I'm able to play MKV and AVI videos. When setting the EDUP on file explorer, just select, windows and enter the host name, username and password. It will be able to access your files.

Nice hardware, the App could be better
All in all, this is a pretty cool and inexpensive gizmo. I have most of my music collection on a USB drive and it connected to the EDUP and the wi-fi signal is good. The not-so-good is that the app needs polishing. I have almost a terabyte of music in various digital formats (MP3, Apple Lossless and FLAC). FLAC is not a supported format. Not everything supports it, so it's not that big a deal. Navigation could be improved. When browsing an artist by album, if you hit the back button, it brings you to the root of the artist list, not back to the artist. When you have lots and lots of music, this is a pain. Another issue (which may be a config issue, I haven't tried to debug it yet) is that the app isn't visible over BlueTooth on my iPhone. With some better software, this would be a killer product. The hardware is really solid and it supports Wi-Fi pass-through (you connect your device to the EDUP and configure the EDUP to use an eternal network so you can read mail, surf the web, etc. while listening) which is a nice feature.

No Buy
I have a MacBook Air with no CD reader. The instructions do not provide a website to download the software that required to use this item. Using Google/yahoo to find the download site is not easy; http://edupwireless.com/profile/download/183701/0The model number is EP-3701.I plugged my seagate 1tb external hard drive into the device and plugged the device into a power source. Connecting to it with my computer's wi/fi was easy enough. then you turn on the software, and it is supposed to locate the device. If it doesn't you are supposed to refresh. It did not work for me. I re-booted my computer. Still nothing. It would not find the device.I spent an hour with it, hoping it would work. Recommendation: No buy.

Great Little Tool
I needed a way to clean out photos and videos from my iPhone 6 and store them without a computer, and this looked like a promising way to get that done. Well, let me tell you, it does that and more. It was easy to set up with the wifi and I used an external usb power bank to power it. I was able to copy photos and videos from my phone and transfer them to a usb flash drive. I was also able to use a usb card reader in conjunction with sd cards to view and transfer files both to and from my phone. I was able to view a movie that was stored on a flash drive as well. It is small, inexpensive, and very functional for what I want. I really like this as it has proved itself very beneficial for my situation.

Great with Ipad mini
Great with Ipad mini!It works as expected. You simply need to download the EDUP WIFI DISK app from apple store on your ipad (free). use the code/password 88888888, connect the EDUP device to a power source using the USB power cord attached to the device and a wall plug or you can also use a power bank on the go, and then connect the EDUP device to the hard drive using a USB power cord (not included in the box). You can now transfer from your hard drive to your ipad or from your ipad to the hard drive. You can also just read the files.Works like charm so far (1 hour :-)It's going to be so useful during my trip to France alone with my kids in 4 days!

They could of easily just added a readme txt file or something
In order to deal with the settings and use the desktop app you must connect to the wifi for the EDUP first. Password is 88888888. From there you can change settings if you wish.As for mobile devices. All you need to do is download the app connect to the wifi signal, same password, then open the app. From there you can access your content. Streaming HD movies with no issues.Getting connected for the first time was a chore as there was no manual. I had to hunt for the manual in order to get the password for wifi access. They could of easily just added a readme txt file or something.

This small device can turn ANY usb storage device into clouds and you can use your smart phones / tablets/laptop /pcs to access
It works as expected. This small device can turn ANY usb storage device into clouds and you can use your smart phones/tablets/laptop/pcs to access your data from it. It creates an own wifi network so you don't need to have an internet connection to make it work. It requires a 5V power supply to work though (just plug its USB tail in a 5V charger). I have a 5TB HDD to store all my data and now I can use all of my devices to access (2 ways!) to that 5TB HDD! The app does not have a sleek design but it does work! Hopefully the app interface would be improved in the future.
