Very good product. Great quality as expected from the price.
You can tell from the product once you open the box that this is good quality. Every component is clearly marked and can be identified in the instructions.Very simple to install (If you want to do it yourself) and the instructions are very easy to understand.(Please check the Owners Manual on Scorpio's website and read the installation instructions before purchasing if you want to do it yourself, as I can only speak for myself when I say it was an easy install! This will be based on your individual skills and understanding of electronics.)I have not been testing the alarm a lot, but I did try all the functions and they all work great. My biggest consern was the proximity sensor (Which is basically the reason I got this alarm instead of a cheaper one). I mounted it under the gas tank on my KTM which is plastic (Proximity sensor can't detect through metal), and it has worked great so far. It seems the sensitivity adjustment is within the sufficient range. It was a bit too sensitive out of the box so I turned it down some, but I think I might have turned it down too much. I'll just have to use if for a while and find the prefect setting (don't want the neighbors cat to set it off, but people shouldn't be able to come too close either). The remote also works great with the RFID (it will know that it's you and not a thief as long as you have the remote with you) and if something sets it off, you get the information on the screen of the remote. So in conclusion this is a great alarm. If you like the functions and can afford it, get it. Nuff said!

Great Alarm
I have had this installed for several weeks now. Great alarm. The main reasons I bought it are the 1/2 mile warning (via key chain unit), good quality brand, and cool RFID feature that arms the bike after I simply walk away from it (no need to press buttons, etc.).Gave it four stars because the perimeter is a bit quirky. Sometimes doesn't sound on the right side of the bike. I had it professionally installed so it should be set up well. Either way, it's a great alarm with a lot of features.I recommend it fully.

Remote will fall apart, battery dies without warning, range is measured in inches rather than miles
I've had mine for almost three years now, and I said had b/c I had enough with it and took it out today. The worst offender IMO is the remote, which first of all, it uses a poorly designed active RFID, which requires to be really close to work, otherwise it thinks you're stealing the trike... then because it is active, as in, if the battery is dead, the alarm will go off even if the remote is 1 inch away from main unit, worthless. Oh, and guess what, battery dies quicker than you think... I had the 1st one replaced under warranty, after only 8 months of use... the 2nd one died a couple of days ago without any warning. Recharged it and today morning it had 3 bars, then all of the sudden, next time I look at the remote to get on the trike (leaving work) its dead, again, and at that moment I said "sorry, this is it" and proceeded to rip the alarm off the trike at work to ride home without sounding like a thief (wasn't fun ripping a 300 dollar alarm while screaming siren in a public parking lot) Then there is the remote, oh my, WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK... for the money you pay for this alarm the remote should've been chromed in solid gold or titanium capable of diving the Mariana's trench, but no, they used the cheapest plastic ever devised, the dang thing started to fall apart very soon after the 1 year mark of use; in fact it broke off so bad that I had to add an extra hook to carry it on the keychain due to fear of the plastic tab holding the chain ever breaking off... oh, and once the case starts to break apart, it is no longer waterproof... which leads me to the next point: don't ride with the cracked case because rain will get in and the remote will go haywire, like most electronic devices and water. Then there is the range, I was lucky if I got over 50 yards range under most real world conditions. and that is being generous... if the remote is inside your pocket then the range drops drastically... the perimeter sensor was probably the only nice feature of this alarm, but it got to a point in which it tripped by a squirrel taking a leak three trees down the road so I had to turn it off as well. The shock sensor was either so finicky that if you even looked at the trike it will go off or if you lowered sens down you needed a sledgehammer to trip the alarm... all in all, lets just say I put up with it for three years, but next alarm will be a 50 dollar amazon special, so I won't feel too bad when I have to yank it off the trike in a public parking lot...

Very Over rated for the price
This alarm system is fall less desirable and is not performing as well as much less expensive Cycle Alarm Systems I've purchased in the past. I will defiantly not recommend this product to any of my motorcycle groups or friends. The Scorpio brand rates far less below its description and does not live up to its pricing.

You need quite a bit of space to mount the main control box- parallel to the ground. Should work OK on a full-dresser.

the cost is offset by peace of mind
i first considered an alarm when i got my first really custom CBR. everyone stopped to look and often would touch. i wasted $50 on a noise maker that did NOT prove effective for the bike or my peace of mind. i then "bit the bullet" and got the Scorpio i kept seeing in all the fancy full page adds. its NOT a luxury ... it's a necessity for a bike that is worth hanging on to. the installation takes time and careful reading of the instructions, but it's "do-able" by anyone. spend the extra for the proximity sensor and the anti hijack. both provide awesome protection above noise. the proximity, when it chirps, causes almost everyone to jump back and look around as if to say "i wasn't touching anything". a MUST. the anti hijack provides an added benefit of shutting down the bike a quite a distance if you are aware it is being driven off. you will find yourself hoping someone will get near your bike so it will startle them and you can peek out the window of the store realizing they don't know that you know. the remote also has an incredible range that even works when you are across the parking lot and inside the mall to some extent depending on the distance. as soon as i knew i was moving overseas, it was the first thing i ordered to bring over with me for my new bike. the people over here wont have a clue whats going on when my bike starts chirping at them :)
