Simple, good quality gaffers tape.
I've used a lot of gaffers tape for taping down wires in convention centres, and I grabbed this roll for use around the home. There's not much to say, it's just good quality gaffers tape that does what you expect gaffers tape to do. Sticks well, and can be used on a permanent basis on smooth surfaces. Like most gaffer tapes, it will leave dramatically less residue than duct tape, none for temporary use, and only a very slight residue if you leave it installed for months or years (most likely at the edges). However, it's very important that you know what you're buying: this is gaffers tape, not duct tape. It's not intended for the same purpose, and it doesn't have nearly as much adhesion. It's not supposed to! It's supposed to have a matte finish (no reflections from lights), tear very straight in either direction (no need for scissors), and leave little to no residue. It's primarily for temporary use, though as I said earlier, it can be used permanently in some scenarios.

Works a lot better than duct tape!
Depending on what you need this to do, it can be a great purchase. A cat adopted us about 3 years ago. We already had a dog and I needed to keep the cat separated from the dog until they got used to each other. I gave him my office which is carpeted. We got plastic runners and cut them to cover all the carpeted areas to keep his litter out of the carpet and keep him from using his nails on my carpet. We started out with duct tape to hold the plastic runners together but over time the adhesive on the duct tape starts to slide and get gooey. A few times a year I have to empty the office and take up the plastic runners, get the gooey glue off of them, clean them, put them back down and re-tape. A few months ago, we used this gaffer tape instead. We have not had any issues with sliding or goo. The plastic runners stay in place, even the one we taped to the tile.

Best tape I have ever used
I cannot believe how wonderful this tape is. I taped up a sign on an outside brick wall. It has been rained on so many times and also has been frozen and it's still holding strong! I've used it on 2 metal cabinet doors that refuse to stay closed. The tape holds, pulls up easily to open the cabinets and sticks right back when I close them. They must have been opened 100 times and the tape is still working as if it were the first time. I have used it to tape up boxes, then realized that I left something out of the cardboard box. The tape pulled up easily with only about a 1 inch by 1/4 inch piece of paper pulling up from the box. The tape then resealed the box perfectly. When I went to put the box back in storage, it slipped in my hands and I was holding it upside down with the tape on the bottom. It was about 50 lbs and I thought sure that the tape would fail and everything would spill. It did not. The tape held fast. It has worked great around my windows to help keep out the cold. You know how sometimes you get tape crooked and when you pull it up to straighten it, the tape twists and sticks to itself? This has not happened at all with the GafferPower Gaffer tape. I also had a plastic bag in the freezer that tore. I used the Gaffer tape. About a month later, I removed it from the freezer and pulled it off of the plastic bag without a problem. I stuck it on the side of the fridge until I could throw it away. I forgot about it and 3 days later I noticed it on the fridge. I assumed it would fall right off having been in the freezer for a month. It did not. It was stuck well to the fridge and there was no residue left on my fridge when I removed it!!!!! How I wish I had known about this tape sooner. The clear package tape and the Duct tape are going in the back of the drawer only to be used in emergencies. Can't wait to try some of the other colors! It also does NOT hurt that this is made in the U.S.A. and is affordable!!!! I wish Amazon would sell more made in the USA products.

WOW!
This is my first purchase of gaffer tape, so I can't compare this brand with others. But I can say that this product has amazed me. I bought it originally to place a marker at the top of our stairs, for safety. The flooring and the stairs are both the same laminate, and it was easy to miss the first step. It has been on the floor now for more than 2 weeks, and although we have walked over it many times, it continues to adhere to the floor with no peeling at all. Then I used it to stick a temporary notice to the front door of our church. It stuck there in the wind just fine, and when I removed it later not only did the tape lift off the door as clean as a whistle, it peeled off the paper just as well. It was just ordinary copy paper, but it was just as pristine after I removed the tape as it was before. Then the sliding door in our shower wouldn't stay closed. It slowly drifted open during a shower. The track on which the rollers ran was sloping slightly. I took a piece of the tape and wrapped it around the track. That was enough to stop the drift, but the door slides over it easily when we open or close it in the normal way. It will require replacement after a while, but it will be easy to remove the old piece, leaving no residue, and replace it as required.Already, I am wondering how I ever managed without this amazing stuff. So glad I found it!1st February 2022 - UPDATE! OK so the tape I used to mark the top of my stairs (see above) held wonderfully. But today it was looking a bit grungy and I decided it was time to renew it. I was a bit apprehensive. My friend who is an engineer at a radio station told me gaffer tape is great, but if you leave it in place too long, it won't come off cleanly. So it has been there 4 months, and we have been walking on it several times a day. How will it perform? The video tells the story. At first the tape pulled off perfectly - for about the first 18 inches. After that some residue was left. (It took a lot of effort to pull it off the laminate flooring, yet the tape didn't tear.) Then, I found that all I had to do to remove the residue was to press the tape that had come off well against the remaining residue. I had wondered if I would have to use a solvent to do the job, but no!The second picture shows the laminate after all the tape was removed, and it is absolutely pristine. No need at all to clean off any remaining residue. Wow again!

Doesn’t stick.
I bought this because I was wearing a plunged neckline to a wedding, but it didn’t even stay on my freshly washed and dried skin for 30 seconds!! Had to just use duct tape that I thankfully had around the house.
