how hard is this to clean. mainly the top that doesn't come out.?

If you clean it just after usage it’s not very hard at all just range it off. Or if you prepare wipe off with a dish rag or brush. I suppose if you let certain vegetables dry and stick to the slicer it could be more difficult.
