This pot makes good coffee, and relatively quickly, to the point where I don't use the timer function, I just grind the beans (the Decen HY-1428S is a great little grinder BTW) and begin the brew. The water is sprayed out over the ground coffee so the whole batch gets the water, not just a spot in the middle, and the warming plate is correctly set so that it doesn't overheat the liquid (it's hot but not scalded).The place where you put in the water could be a little bit wider but it's okay, and there is a visible gauge on the side so you can measure not guess at how much water you have put in.The only thing I don't like about it is the 40 minute cutoff on the warmer. I get why it's there, but the time is too short; I like to linger over my coffee. It's not a big deal, it just means I have to keep remembering to reset it by pressing the brew button, but it's annoying.It's easy enough to clean and the permanent filter works perfectly, saving money and the environment. It also has an attractive appearance. Is that what giving "thickness" rating is for? 😅 If so I'll give it five, it looks good.

It's pretty cool that I have the first UK based review here! The fact that all the reviews, and pretty well rated ones, are Italian gives me real hope!! Now that it has arrived, I am delighted. It is nice and lightweight - the filter works well and the coffee tastes great. What more do you need? Good value - there are cheaper ones but I like the use and usability of this machine. Really pleased.

I wanted a proper coffee maker, for our holiday home, but nothing too expensive - something that would be good value and useful for the times we're down there. I love chrome and stainless steel, so it had to be something like that, and this looked perfect. At under £40, it was a good price too, even more so as there was a discount voucher at the time to make it even cheaper. This Monday was the first time in months we had been allowed down to our van - so we could take it out of hibernation and get it ready for the new season before heading home, as no stays allowed until April 12th. The unit is solid, but light, and looks great. It has a good capacity (1.8L), so plenty to keep me going across a morning. It brews nice and quickly, and the programmable function means that I'll be able to have coffee waiting for me in the morning when we're allowed back down to stay. Counting down the days...

Nothing beets the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. I love being able to set it up the night before and then walk down into the office and have a fresh coffee ready for me to start work. Brings the office to home for me. Great to have a reusable filter - my last didnt and it was getting really hard to find them - as well as expensive. Holds enough coffee for the day and the hot plate keeps it lovely and hot. Very pleased and would recommend

I've just bought myself a new curfew grinder then as luck ..or bad luck would happen my coffee machine broke!So I decided to treat myself to a new one ... And in a way I'm so glad the old one broke! This is like 10 steps up on the old one ... Firstly it looks great .. real nice finish with its chrome finish ...looks really smart.The functionality is great too .. and I've no idea why or how ... but the coffw tastes better!!!It's easy to clean too ... So fresh great tasting coffee is on my morning menu!

Makes decent coffee but I'd have liked the water gauge to be on the front where it'd be easier to see. I have to move the whole machine and turn it sideways to see how much water is in it. I've now made a cheat sheet with measurements and pour in a specific amount. e.g. one cup = 125ml, two cups = 250 ml etc.I'm not sure how I'm going to clean the water reservoir properly because it doesn't detach. I use filtered water but bacteria will build up eventually.

Am loving this coffee maker...stylish and light weight....Great to set the timer and wake up to fresh filtered coffee...Coffee keeps hot on the hot plate so no more waiting for kettle to boil ...Nice glass jug....easy to clean ....Would recommend to all coffee lovers...

Best coffee machine I've ever bought. Makes fantastic tasting coffee. Its easy to clean, (because of this do NOT use filter papers as this leaves a film on the coffee). The machine keeps your coffee lovely and hot for 40 minutes. If you've not quite finished by this time just press the on button again and it will keep it hot longer. I love my machine
