I originally bought the egg for mother's birthday. Although the pictures shown have a perfect crafted egg and says comes w/hinge... It doesn't. The egg itself is heavy, the two pieces sort of snap together; and if not careful can drop. It's a beautiful piece, wish craftsmanship was better. The color is a beautiful deep green. Egg itself was alot smaller than I had pictured. The legs arecrooked, doesn't really stand straight. I guess for the money it isn't too bad. Not to be prejudice... But, come on! A Russian egg duplicaed & made into tiny trinket from China.I had come to expect BETTER QUALITY manufacturers used by Amazon. I mean... It's AMAZON, I use to order everything from here.

Beautiful Egg - Excellent Quality - it says it has a hinge - but it does not. The top comes straight off and if you are not careful it will fall and be damaged.

no hinge attached to bottom and top . The legs are slightly bent. It is a shame because the materials it is made with are pretty good. It just the workmanship that leaves much to be desired.

This is my 6th imitation Fabergé egg and I absolutely love it. The green really pops with the gold and I love the built-in base.
