Great product!
I opted to buy this for my HTPC rather than get a wireless keyboard/mouse setup that would have cost 60 bucks. It has ample cord amount to extend usb devices out from the PC. Works perfectly anytime I plug in devices although I have yet to try using 5 devices at once. When a device is plugged in, the clear part lights up in a sweet blue led color. The cord can actually come off of it which reveals a mini USB connection.(so if anything happens to the cord you can probably use any other mini USB cord you have laying around).Product does what it claims to do in a perfect fashion and was relatively inexpensive. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend this product.

No surprises!
I read that a couple people mentioned that the cord was shorter then they wanted (2ft). I thank those for their review because it now ships with the longer 4ft cord! Perfect for my desktop since PC is a ways away and saves the reach and the excess wear and tear on PC USB port. I have my USB wireless mouse receiver and various USB flash drives plugging in and out with zero issues. Dont even know its there and being shared. My external powered 1T WD drive works fine on it also. The mild light to show which ports are used is perfect, better then the cheaper hub on my laptop that could spot an aircraft in cloudy weather its so bright.

Doesn't work with my external hard drives
I don't know how many stars to give it, because it didn't work for the purposes for which I intended it. It might be great for other devices. My setup is as follows: HP G60 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, Microsoft optical wheel mouse, and three Western Digital portable hard drives - an older 360 GB, a 750 GB, and a brand new 1 TB.When used with the Targus 4-port USB hub, my computer recognized the mouse, but all of the hard drives had issues. Some didn't connect at all while others rapidly connected and disconnected non-stop. I'll admit it's possible it could just be my system, but I did find another hub (see below) that worked as expected. In hindsight, I didn't look for any solutions at the time and I didn't even try a system restart with this Targus hub. Nevertheless, I prefer things to be simpler than that.I borrowed two other 4-port hubs to try. One was another Targus (different model) and the other was a JustCom (never heard of it before). The Targus had exactly the same problems while the JustCom worked just great for the most part. The JustCom stumbled when I plugged in all three hard drives and the mouse, but works with any combination of three of them even when I add a Memorex 4GB thumb drive. In the end, I traded the new Targus for the JustCom and I'm happy so far.

Exactly what I needed
I got sick of having to pull USB cables out of my computer everytime I needed to free up a plug for my printer, and I realized that this is exactly what I needed. So far I am loving this thing. It has freed up alot of clutter on my desk and you can't put a price on the time it has saved me from never having to unplug USB cables again. Also, it will power up any devices you have that are powered through USB such as a rechargable mouse. This is important as some USB hubs don't have this feature. The blue lights on it are also cool. It even has a plug for an AC adaptor, in case you need to plug devices into it without it being plugged into a computer.

Kind of does the job, but not all I was hoping for
I know my title is a little cliché, but that really is how I feel about it. My wife got this dumb PC that doesn't have USB ports on the front and the way we have our PC it really isn't that convenient to get to the back to access the USB ports, so I bought this one to run up the front so I don't have to dig in the back every time. It works ok for most items, but not one that I really use a lot--our portable hard drive. I'm not sure why--maybe I purchased the wrong product or need a power adapter for it, but it wasn't clear to me in the instructions. I'd probably have given 5-stars if it worked, but for this, I'm dinging a couple stars and only giving 3-stars.

Good Buy for needed USB 2.0 Ports
Dependable has not failed yet in over a year since buying it. The only thing is I wish it came with the power supply. I did buy a 5Vdc 2.6ma power supply for the cooling fan for my laptop, you know how hot they can get exp the i7. However that was the only drawback the and it's not much.Perfect other wize...

Great Device
This is a great product at a great price. I bought one of these for my laptop to add to the number of USB ports available. I liked it so much, I bought another for my desktop to simply make the ports more accessible. The supplied cord is plenty long to reach the desktop on the floor and then I simply Velcro'ed the Targus to my desk to make plugging and unplugging USB devices much more convenient. The Targus works right out of the box, no install required and it works on every computer I've tried -- no problems. I must confess, the blue LED's look pretty cool too!

Very slow
So slow to use. You get what you pay for. Invest in something with more speed and you'lll be happy. THis product wasn't worth it. I don't use it and it's in a junk drawer somewhere waiting the next purge to Goodwill.
