Prayers of My Youth

I loved this collection by F.S. Yousaf! I have most of his other books (Serenity, Sincerely, and this one! Gotta get my hands on Euphoria iA!) BUT I will have to say I think I liked this one the most! Such beautifully relatable pieces that speak volumes of complex, yet often universal experiences. The organization of this collection was what stood out to me. As a poet, it was an honor to see someone highlight our faith in such an authentic and gentle way. Absolutely beautiful, mA!

I am in awe and peace at how beautiful and personal this collection is… so so different than sincerely,. There are so many things I can list, but all I truly love and am overwhelmed in the most pleasant of ways. Can we please talk about the illustrations? Oh my goodness. And the start to each new section, the titles, the small paragraphs following. Such perfection. The attention to detail. They all tell a story.It’s such a wonderful feeling reading from another Muslim author 🥺 I can’t even describe it. I truly loved this one.I love the themes and topics, they’re much deeper and personal and it felt like I was reading/listening to his actual thoughts, not just reading his thoughts from a diary or journal like his first collection sincerely,.

F.S. Yousaf never fails to impress with his poetry collections and he has done it yet again. This is my favorite poetry book he has released so far. This book takes you on a spiritual journey through highs and lows. I was overwhelmed with emotion from the beginning to the end. I can’t recommend this poetry collection enough!

This has been the third book that I’ve read by F.S. Yousaf. I honestly couldn’t recommend his books even more. He just has a way with words that makes his writing seamlessly flow!! Can’t wait for him to release more books :)

This book is a beautiful peace of work. The words spoke volumes, as F.S Yousaf continues to excel in his abilities to bring the words to meaning. To me, the book was a emotional journey to a spiritual awakening. I truly think this author has written his best work yet, and seeing his growth from “Euphoria” (also a fabulous piece) to “Prayers of my Youth” , man I’m excited to see what he cooks up next!!! You got yourself a new fan in me sir!

Many books at best take you on a journey in which you lose yourself in the emotional rollercoaster that the author sends you on. But what separates this book from many others in its genre is that it invites you into the author's life and allows you to experience his journey through his lens.What a beautiful book, so excited to see what more this author has to share!

Prayers of my youth put into words the memories of my own past. The author and I connect through our shared childhoods. Many of the poems tapped into things I had completely forgotten about.

FS Yousaf has done it once again with his third work of poetry. This one is definitely more personal and different from his last book Sincerely, but it’s been quite the comforting read and has me thinking more about my own faith and spirituality. He never disappoints, this would make a great gift for anyone :)

I absolutely loved this book, I have read all of this author’s books including sincerely and euphoria and I can say I’ve loved them all, if you’ve only just started reading poetry or you’ve been reading poetry for years I would highly recommend this book and this author, F.S yousaf has changed the way I look at poetry and parts of life, so if you have a spare minute please decide on choosing this book.

Relatable, raw and beautiful. A quick read with some strong quotes. I’m sure everyone can find at least one poem they relate to.
