Original S.W.A.T. Classic 9" Side Zip

First introduced to these when we opened a uniform store for Law Enforcement. Never heard of them before until a customer who had foot surgery asked us to carry them, saying they were the only comfortable boots after their surgery. Said they felt like wearing tennis shoes. So, we started carrying them and I have been wearing them myself; on duty, ever since. I had a broken ankle and my customer was right, they are like wearing tennis shoes, but with all the haz mat protection needed for Law Enforcement encounters and the ability to shine up and look professional. I work 12 to 16 hour shifts and my "dogs are not barking" at the end because these boots are great. My current pair are starting to crack after 10 years steady wear, so it was time to buy another pair and the price has remained reasonable, despite the current Government's stupid inflation hikes. Don't take my word for it, try them out for yourself.

First impression was a little off-putting. Took a bit longer to break in than other boots I have worn and after looking at reviews I was glad I got a half size larger than normal. I normally wear a 10.5 wide, though an extra wise would work better, so I got these in 11 wide. After a week and a half of wear the boots were fully broken in. I got a small abrasion on my ankle and both small toes were rather smooshed, but now they fit perfectly. The side zipper is way better than I have experienced with any other brand. Hands down, this is to me one of the most important features, I am lazy tying shoes and always prefer to double knot them as I have terrible luck with laces coming undone when I am working with my feet close to moving parts. Gone through at least a dozen pairs of shoelaces due to that. Shoe weight is extremely light, and they are one of the coolest temperature boots I have worn, great for the Southern California summers. Soles do not squeak when I am walking at the supermarket, always appreciated, and I have not had any slipping issues, and I walk through a lot of grease slicks. All in all, very nice boots. I hope they last for a while, if they do I will be re-buying down the road.

My husband needed these for work. He said they were comfortable to wear all day, the quality was good for the amount paid. The side zipper made them easy to get on for quick mornings and his feet did not hurt at the end of the day! We will definitely be purchasing again!

so I have owned quite a few pairs of boots, I have to say these are pretty comfortable out of the box but a suggestion would be some better support inside the boot especially if you have arched feet. Feel durable and not hard on your feet when breaking them in. I work in a prison so i'm always on my feet. I usually wear a 12 in men's and I ordered a 12E which is a 12 and a bit wider for wide feet. They have about a half inch of room at the toe so the size runs a little bigger than expected but if you're like me this is ok for when it gets cold and extra layers are needed. The width part I probably should have stayed with a regular cause the run WIDE if you order them that way. Overall: Great feel, comfort fitting, durable, warm even in negative weather, easy on the feet.

Extremely comfortable. Surprisingly excellent traction on frigid slick snow. The zipper is way heavy duty and needed some silicone lube to make it zip easier. The leather takes a great shine and the overall boot design breathes comfortably. I've had several pair of the Magnums and this is equivalent, perhaps a tad superior. Now all that's left is to see how long they last. If it gives me a solid year, it'll stay five stars. If not, the sky will darken due to less stars. UPDATE: After a couple of weeks use, the right shoe tongue never rested properly and it was then I noticed it was sewn in crooked. Within the return period, I did, and ordered a direct replacement. Not only was the book quality correct, the zippers were super easy and smooth to go. Amazon and vendor policies at their best. Even with the minor issues, still all five stars apply.

Purchased these for my father for Christmas and as usual, they were one of his favorite gifts. That they make him so happy may be odd, but as someone who is on his feet on concrete all day, he swears by them and the comfort they bring to his feet, legs, and back. These boots have excellent room (he is a 13W), great support, and is a top-quality boot. My father likes them so much that he requests a new pair every year even though his “old ones still have life in them.” (And, he refuses to part with the old ones until they fall apart which takes 3-4 years of hard use making them a great value!) Delivery was quicker than quoted, product came in perfect condition. Happy dad, happy daughter!

I bought my first pair of this 'desert/military' style boot about a decade ago. Prior to this style I wore Loggers for 40 years. My first pair of this style were made, at the time, by Converse. The Converse fit like an old favorite pair of tennis shoes right out of the box. I ride a motorcycle and they were an almost daily wear boot. Sadly they just flat wore out. Converse quit manufacturing this style and were replaced by Reebok. The Reebok's weren't even close. Nor were the 5.11's or Bates or Magnums. They all found their way to a thrift store. The Danner, Under Armour, Nike, Thorogood, Salomon and others are just too highly priced for my budget. The Original S.W.A.T. is like the Converse. I wear a 10.5 with a sole insert for summer weight socks and I remove the insert when wearing heavy winter weight socks or my kilt socks, both extremely thick. I can only hope OSWAT continues manufacturing this style for years to come. For my use, comfort, fit and needs the best of this style boot on the market at a price that can only be considered affordable. This was my second purchase. One pair is being dedicated to when wearing a kilt is required.

I'm a longtime fan of OS boots. I've always worn the classic 9" boot in desert tan. This new pair is slightly different, with breather holes in the sides and the coyote color. They also feel a little stiffer out of the box, but I haven't given them a full day on my feet yet so I'm sure they will loosen up some, they always do. This is still a very light, comfortable, and durable boot. These are the closest boot to an athletic shoe that I have ever had. Whether it's climbing in attics, running from the police, passed out drunk, chasing neighborhood kids with a scream mask, or just about any other dry activity, these are great boots!

The boots are amazing. I have a friend in the Canadian military who did a 500km march last summer in these boots and he recommended them. Very well constructed, super comfortable fit, I would highly recommend them. Absolutely worth buying.

Was expecting a steel toe like my old swat pair but this one did not have it. It is quite light and comfortable.
