A-Level Physics for AQA: Year 1 & AS Student Book (CGP A-Level Chemistry)

The book contains all the necessary information so I cannot fault it in that respect.Of course, no book is perfect - if you don't understand something after reading it once, it's likely you won't understand it after reading over it again simply because the book is not entirely depthy. In that case I would suggest using the internet, but you don't need to purchase any other textbook.I would recommend buying both this and it's corresponding revision guide also published by CGP because together they can help to consolidate your knowledge of the syllabus.Tip: Do NOT highlight the book because you'll have a hard time re-reading over the text in a clearminded manner, and all the words printed are very important. Do not overlook bits of information because they seem insignificant - CGP books are purposefully brief.

Have delayed writing a review on this for a couple of years to see how it settled in terms of teaching/learning the new specification. I bought copies of the other AQA series (Pearson, Collins and Hodder) and thought this the best of the bunch. It's proved excellent and my students really get on with it. It's easy for teachers to set homeworks from also, as the sub-sections have small chunks of questions at the end (rather than tons at the end of each entire topic, as is sometimes the case). Indeed, I like it so much I bought CGP for the new maths specification also. Now if you'll excuse me I just have to copy and paste this review into the Y2 version of the book . . .

Great book Which summarizes key concepts.However if you like textbooks that go into a lot of detail on each concept you should probably choose another book.This book along with many past papers should garuntee a fairly high mark.
