No pulling! Makes walks enjoyable
I've used these before in the past and they are fantastic! I got the red one and the black one, I have two sprocker spaniels (springer x cocker) brother and sister so DOUBLE the pulling! I put these on them and they're like totally different dogs! Walking them is an absolute pleasure :)

Excellent. Wish I hadn't put off using it for so long.
I have had this sitting in the cupboard for quite some time now, as I was certain my one year old border collie would absolutely hate it and I didn't want to freak her out or cause her distress in any way with something so new.She is rather skittish when walking along the roadside when on her harness by itself, so she will pull pull pull in order to get to the woods or home faster.Today I bit the bullet and thought I would give the gentle leader a try, and if she really didn't like it I would take it straight off. What can I say? I'm SO happy I tried it out today, and she did so well considering this was her first time having it on. She pawed at it a little bit, but after a little reassurance she didn't seem bothered by it at all.We went our usual walk and from the moment we left the house there was absolutely no pulling from her at all, even by the roadside. It was like walking a completely different dog! Not only am I happy that my arm is no longer being pulled out of the socket, but she actually seems so much more relaxed by the road than before. Just trotting along merrily. I also worried that it may dig into her snout, but because she didn't pull at all there were no worries there :)I will add I used this along with her harness, using a double ended lead attached to the harness and the gentle leader. I thought this would be a better introduction to it for her than just having the gentle leader by itself. That and I wanted the extra security, knowing that if she decided to paw it off that I'd still have her on the harness. This combination, I found, worked brilliantly :)So, we're both happy :) Win - win!

Quite possibly the best thing I have ever bought!
I am absolutely amazed! We have a rescue dog that is very reactive to other dogs and terribly anxious when taken out. He pulls like a husky in every direction, dragging even my 6ft husband into the bushes then explodes into a frenzy if he sees a dog even in the distance. We have tried every kind of collar and harness out there but I was reluctant to try a head collar, even though I would never dream of walking my horse anywhere without one. Following an operation, knowing I would not be able to take him out at all as he would pull me over, I bought the gentle leader as a last resort, not expecting much to be honest. Wow, following 2 or 3 outings where he went mad trying to get it off his nose (which he did manage despite it being very tight) and jumping like a kangaroo on his back legs, he then just changed completely. The moment it is out on he becomes relaxed and passive. He walks right at my side and does not pull at all. When he encounters another dog, the gentle leader pulls him round to face me really easily and I can then distract him with treats. A very cheap product with amazing results.

Fantastic piece of kit
Our young dog has always been a 'Puller' on his leads - be it leather collars or choke chains and a semi choke collar. Also, we did buy a Halti -type which he hated - he bucked like a bronco when it was put over his muzzle... not with this Beaphar lead.Since I have used this with his lead, we have had NO pulling AT ALL. He settled into wearing it after about 3 minutes of trying to pull it down his muzzle and we now have a well behaved Working Cocker who no longer pulls on the lead!We are recommending it to everyone who asks us what has changed to stop Flag pulling. My little 4 year old grand daughter now loves to walk Flag when we are out - he always dragged her off her feet before.Fantastic , thank you so much.

Very effective, no more pulling!
I have a very strong and determined 11 month old Springer Spaniel boy who pulls like mad. Walking with just a collar and lead is impossible so i decided to use a harness. Ive tried a couple and the first was comfortable for the dog but not effective for pulling, the second wasn't very comfortable and chaffed but worked a bit better (still not great). So i decided to give a halti a try, I've always been against them after hearing stories about damaging the areas the strap sits on from rubbing.I thought id give it a try because for me, the few pounds it would cost was worth a go if it would mean i could walk my dog. First time using it, its fits on to the dogs so much easier with less hassle than any harness and the result was instant. Unlike a harness where you can hold the dog back easier, this doesn't require any force at all because the dog simply doesn't pull. Why i don't know. After a few days with my dog trying to take it off with his paws making walking quite difficult, he eventually got over it and understands that he should just walk normally and it is much more enjoyable for both of us. id recommend taking it slowly to begin with to let them get use to it being on their face, maybe do this by having short but frequent minute walks down the road/house and just having the dog sit there with it on whilst rewarding them for not trying to take it off.The only issue that worries me, well it did at the beginning was that if you let your dog paw at the strap, they can remove it and on a busy road, this is terrifying. You could maybe have another lead slack in your hand that is attached to the collar just in case though I'm sure its unlikely that they would remove it whilst on a walk without you noticing. Definitely something to think about though in case you stop on the side of the road to talk to someone and it manages to come off your dogs nose.
