Petco Brand - You & Me Cat Scratch Post with Feather Toys, 11.5 IN, Tan

These are a pretty good value to distract the clawed beast, and a fresh one is good for at least a month of repeated daily uses... However, once they start to get ripped apart, they really come apart. Carpet bits fly off and come lose after every scratch at that point.Even with them coming a part and making a mess, it's still something the cat enjoys scratching and scratches up instead of our carpet. I have bought several of these, and will continue to do so.

The Cat Posts were just as I had hoped. But my problem wasn't with the product but with Amazon itself. I ordered 4 posts. They came in 4 big boxes. I thought at first that 2 posts wouldn't fit in one box. But That wasn't the case. After opening them I tried placing 2 in a box and they fit perfectly. But that wasn't the only thing. I must of had a 50 yards of paper stuffed in and around each post that was in each box. WHY?? These are certainly not something breakable! I'm not a fanatic about the environment but this seemed ridiculous. So maybe something could be said to the people that do the packaging that they should use a little common sense. I've attached a few pics to illustrate what I'm talking about. And oh BTW there were no feathers in any of the boxes. But that doesn't bother me. My 2 cats have plenty of toys and I want them to just use the post for clawing instead of the furniture, which they do.

Okay in other reviews they claimed it knocks over easy......This is not true unless it was tipping over. My hands are very arthritic and yet it was simple for me to put together and have it in my living room and my cat will run down the hallway up onto the couch then launch herself at this full force and it doesn't even wobble. I am impressed that after a month the feathers are still attached since she attacks the feathers constantly. And I was amazed with the quality of this for the price. She plays with this more than her 52 inch cat tree because she likes clawing carpet and ignores all other scratching areas I tried.

Great design but square base is NOT BROAD ENOUGH and with especially active 'workout kitties' it tips over startling them. They have become used to this first-time-ever tipping over under their hard use, but this should not be happening. Measured the base of a torn up different scratching and the base is far broader square with NO tipping. The feathers are not as interesting to my mid-aged kitties, but would be great for kittens and young 'teenager' cats! Good for the price, but it will not stay upright, so my kitties return to the old worn out scratcher when they want a SUPER serious workout...please make the base far more stable and broad for hard-workout use by strong cats. Still recommend.

The quality is going to be based on how this toy will last. So far I am pleased; it came quickly and it is soft. My cat hasn't really had a chance to play with it but pounced on it as soon as i brought it out. its a nice size post and looks great. Falls over easily; but my cat likes to tackle the crap out of it. Will update with more information about durability later. The last post lasted about 5 years so we will see.Update: he discovered the feathers. They haven't came off yet and that is a miracle.mine lasted about two years before getting replaced. they carpet bits started to really come off the last couple months or so. I would say a year and half for good quality and clean control.

Great quality, but I have to cut off the feathers with the bungee cords (as close to the pole as possible) so that my cat does not chew them off and ingest them. He is not the smartest. But it's like baby-proofing, if it can be chewed off, he will do so. I wish this had come without those attached, because they were cute and I felt like I was wasting something by cutting them off and throwing them away, but the post itself has proven effective. He knew exactly what to do with it straight out of the box. OF course, like a typical cat, he also HAD more fun with the box *eyeroll*

The material came off easily after our cats put their claws on the post.

We went through a bunch of different type of scratchers for our very active kitty. He never really showed interest in other ones we’ve gotten that have the yarn material. He loves scratching our carpet unfortunately so I figured this was the perfect post for him and I was right!!
