Bought this mic is 2022
I’m over here completely surprised with this microphone. I’ve had it for two years and never actually read the instructions! I’m upset with myself because the quality has always been decent but never spectacular and I just thought it’s because this mic is cheap. Today I came back to read the reviews and look for a better mic, I just found out I’ve had my mic in noise cancellation mode for 2 years!!! I turn it off (by holding the mute button for 3 seconds) AND OMG THE QUALITY IS SO GOOD? For those who said the mic is really low and doesn’t pick up on the sounds they want it to, try turning off sound cancellation.

Works as expected..few things are less than ideal.
Microphone works as expected, with nice automatic mix of audio out and microphone monitoring. Pros: 1. Inexpensive 2. Good audio quality 3. Combination gain/monitor volume dial. 4. Gimmicky echo feature. 5. Mute Button Cons: 1. Since mic and mic output are controlled by the same knob, if you have "efficient" earbuds or headset, you may not be able to turn down your own audio enough without dropping the input microphone volume to computer too low. 2. Since mute button is on microphone, impossible to turn on or off without "thump" in outgoing audio. 3. Very solid base/stand transmits vibration from desk extremely well. So things like writing, clicking or moving a mouse, etc. will get picked up. As others have noted, added some fabric, foam, or cork between microphone and surface helps. 4. Echo knob also hard to manipulate without making noise on outgoing audio. Overall a good value with good quality.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY - BUYER BEWARE
I bought this a while back, but never wrote a review for it. Here is the review. Do not buy this absolute piece of overpriced junk. The sound "quality" is terrible. I bought this because I record various sounds, from nature, to everyday noises and etc... I then clean, and upload said sounds to online sound clip repositories. I usually used the built-in microphone on my Amazon fire tablet, and thought, "why not upgrade to a better mic?" This is not a better mic. My tablets microphone can record in better quality than this thing. The audio recorded with this, sounds so "cheap", and picks up tons of fuzz and static, and doesn't even pick up most of the noise going on around it! If you barely tap the mic itself, or if the mic's cord taps or slightly bumps into something, it will pick up that tap and potentially ruin whatever you were attempting to record. Yes. It will pick that up, but not nearby sounds going on around it. I tried for example, to record the sound of a water droplet dripping from a ceiling. Even though I could audibly hear it with my own ears, this mic picked up nothing! Even pointing the mic directly at it yielded nothing. So, all in all. Do not waste you money on this, PLEASE don't. You'll be better off with the built-in mic of whatever device you use. Like your phone, tablet etc... My only use of this mic since my initial day of testing has been a very expensive paperweight, or something that I set other things on top of for space. I only yanked it out now to snap pictures of it. Back into the box you go!

Excellent Mic, Mediocre Stand
This is an excellent mic, sound is great, monitoring feature is great, even the noise cancellation is nice (even though the way it's turned on seems to be a bit of an afterthought). The only negative I can really give this mic is the stand -- there's simply no shock absorbency at all, and even light taps on the stand, base, or even the desk are picked up by the mic. That includes keyboard and mouse clicks, so you're going to have to have some kind of buffer between the stand and desk if you're using it for gaming, podcasting, etc. I've found that an old mousepad helps. That being said, this stand is basically no different from my Blue Yeti mic at triple the cost and not as well featured as the Mercase mic. Overall, highly recommend this mic over paying more for the Blue Yeti.

Very, very inexpensive
I bought this microphone for the sporadic occasions where I like to record myself. Mainly I use this for personal commentary and leaving myself notes. The audio quality is not good unless you are *on top* of the microphone (within 6 inches). It doesn't seem to have any drivers or applications, meaning you just fall back on what Windows tries to give you. Unfortunately, the audio drivers Windows uses for it don't allow you to boost the gain at all to try and compensate for the poor reception. It's decent if your setup is going to have you right on top of your microphone or if you have a boom to mount it on. But if you're just using the stand it ships with and situating it in a way where your mouse won't knock it across the room, you're probably using the thing in the 12-18" range and it just will not pick up your voice *at all*. If you already have a boom mounted, I'm sure this thing is great. But you basically have to eat the microphone for it to hear you. Now, it's *really* cool that the microphone has a line-in with zero latency, and the audio jack can give you immediate audio levels if you plug in a pair of headphones. Supposedly Windows can push audio through the jack, but I never managed to get that to work. Anybody who has tried to listen to *themselves* while also trying to record their voice for any significant amount of time knows how it is basically impossible to monitor your own audio...so this cool feature is more of a hindrance than a help. But it's there. I would *not* recommend this product. I'm not completely unhappy with it, but I also never really want to use it and fall back on an old Creative USB headset I've had forever because it's just reliable.

Great sound quality!
I was interested in a low, sound, high quality microphone, so that I could do things, such as audiobooks, podcast, and more recently I used it for a zoom meeting where I was told that it sounded like I was there in the room with them! It converts easily to the audio in audacity. Where are you can edit out extra sounds from background recordings. I love the fact that I can plug the microphone into my phone using the adapter that came with it! I have already recommended it to people, and I definitely recommend getting this microphone if you are wanting to do any of the things I mentioned!
