My Favorite Tuna!
I love this tuna! It is expensive, but it is worth it! I've been enjoying it for years. It looks and tastes the way tuna should taste and not like cat food. It is hard to find in stores so I was very happy to see that Amazon had it! Try it, you will love the taste of real quality tuna! It is the only tuna my family and I eat.

Expensive, but worth it.
I’ve purchased this a few times. It’s excellent, but so expensive that the average person can’t make this their new tuna of choice. Before you buy, do a little research. This tuna is nothing like your grocery store Starkist or Bumblebee variety. If I’m not mistaken (I may be), this tuna is line caught, and it’s filleted and packaged by hand. And it’s only cooked once, unlike typical tuna that is cooked twice (before and after being canned). So the texture and look are very different. Plus, the cans aren’t jammed with tuna….it has larger chunks of “real” tuna pieces in it. But you’re paying for the quality.

Just received... See below!
These past several years I have been looking at the different tuna brands, so far I have tested wild planet and safe catch. They taste alright but they are processed in vietnam and thailand. To be honest, I'm just looking for American Made, American Caught, American Processed etc. products.I just received my first raincoast tuna (American caught, canadian processed) order and it wasn't as great as expected, for the price, it was more fishy than the other two I have tried. I also ordered American tuna (all American caught and processed), which is the most expensive of all, and will be giving it a try as soon as I receive. There is another one I am looking to try, called Sea Fare Pacific tuna (all American caught and processed) which states their tuna has very low mercury due to it being young tuna. They also state that they only cook their tuna once, unlike most others who twice cook it.

Amazing! What fresh Albacore should taste like!
So, I am mostly vegan but eat Tuna every so often to boost protein. A friend sent me some 365 Albacore Tuna, which was okay, but nothing special. Then I learned more about sustainability and tried WildPlanet, which was pink (not solid white) and smaller chunks with some ground tuna in every can that looked like cat food –– not a fan. Meanwhile, WildPlanet had a fishy smell that wasn't appetizing to me. Upon further research, I came across Raincoast Trading and just ... Wow!I received all 12 cans the next day, none were damaged. I opened my first can and it was all chunks of Albacore, solid white. To my surprise, no fishy smell and no ground-up tuna resembling cat food. Once I fluffed it out a bit, I added some Inglehoffer Mustard, Sweet Honey, and there's no going back! The consistency is excellent, that of chicken really, and you can tell it's high quality – hence the price. My pups even loved it. It's a nice treat for them as well. Definitely going to order this regularly as it's the only tuna I've found palatable. This is the best tuna I've ever had and there's no going back to generic store brands.

Best tuna on market
Besides the obvious benefit of being line caught, the tuna itself is like the major brands were years ago. It is a big chunk of tuna- not a bunch of mush packed in oil or water that squeezes around the lid when you try to drain it. You have to break it up with a fork. Cooked by itself so the only liquid comes from the tuna. It is a phenomenal product. It is all we buy now. Still have cans of Starkist and Chicken of the Sea sitting on shelf from years ago just for emergencies.

Probably the best we have found
First, and most importantly, DO NOT compare this item to tuna that comes from sh1t-hole countries and/or is caught and canned on large ships. This is not from Vietnam, China, Philippines, Thailand or some other country on the other side of the world. This tuna is line-caught and prepared in the USA or Canada. This product is more $$ for a reason -- it tastes great, is not "strong," and the cost of production is higher. We'd buy nothing else, regardless of price. Period. (NB: Occasionally we have been able to get this from WalMart and shipped to us for less $$ than Amazon/Bezos charges.)

BEST TUNA EVER !!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TUNA! It comes almost like a steak not tiny chuncks. I have fried it and had great sucess with "Fish Friday" choices once I found this . I will continue to buy it . Yes , it's more spendy but on so worth it for a one person house hold or someone like me who is very pickly about where my fish was caught and what it tastes like ! I highly recommend you try it and see if you don't switch also. It truly is that good, and NO I do not know anyone associated with this company.

I love tuna, and if this lived up to all ...
First off, paying over $5 for a 5oz. can of tuna took a lot of thought on my part. But after seeing Andrew Zimmern tour the plant in Canada, and reading all the reviews, I decided to shell out the money for 12 cans as a rare treat for myself. I love tuna, and if this lived up to all the hype I figured it would be worth trying. After receiving my small box of gold, I put all 12 cans on the counter and stared for a few minutes. I immediately started to regret the purchase. But, optimistically I decided to pop open a can. The first thing I noticed was the aroma. Nothing like the store bought tuna. Not fishy or oily smelling. More of a fresh, almost chicken like smell. And it wasn't a shredded, watery mush. It was one solid hunk of tuna with very little liquid. After removing it from the can, I used a fork to flake it and mix it with the liquid. Now it looked more like tuna. My first taste was a mixture of surprise and relief. The texture was unbelievable. More like a tuna steak rather than canned tuna. Not that I've led a sheltered life, but I had no idea canned tuna could taste like this. I slowly savored the rest of the can while my cat looked on, impatiently awaiting her share. Sorry kitty, this is mine. But she did get to lick the can. Relieved, now I could justify the price. Line caught, low mercury, responsibly harvested. What more could one ask from this remarkable tuna. Although I can't afford to buy it on a regular basis, I will buy it as often as I am able. After all, don't we all deserve a rare treat now and then?

the best tuna ............
what you buy in the stores i have to say i dont believe is tuna. it all comes from china so i am very suspicous of what is in the cans. i think it might be dolphin . this canned tuna is caught just off our coast in BC. and you can tell the difference once you open the can. and believe me, this tuna is real and tastes so. its really good. i eat one can on homemade bread mixed with mayo and the hamburger relish, salt and pepper. then put some pickles on the sandwich. really yummmmmmmy. buy this one time and youll see the store stuff is not tuna. yuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Too salty
I always buy this brand of tuna and salmon and have been happy with it. This order I accidentally bought salted tuna and the saltiness is too strong for me, masking the flavour of the tuna.My order arrived on time and was in good condition.

Great quality tuna that is good for the environement
Very good tuna, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. But there is a good reason for the high price and its because of the way the fish are caughte (fish lines instead of big net that does a lot of damages). The mercury level is also much lower then net fishing (you could eat one can a day and be fine vs maybe 2 cans a week with the other brands because of its high level of mercury). Good service as well, they are fast to respond to emails.

High end Tuna at a decent cost
Obviously more expensive then the $1 - $2 per can stuff, but you get what you pay for. Great taste, expires in about 5 years so seems like they just packed it. Like the fact that it's local since I live in BC. Also in stores it sells around $9 a can so when I saw $70 for 12 it's actually a great deal to buy online bought 2 - 12 packs . I would defiantly recommend. I can't go back to the cheap stuff, I've been ruined now .. haha
