We had slot of smoke in our area this past month and the air purifiers (I bought 2) really helped. In fact we had the worst air quality recorded in the world …. Glad I bought them. Very affordable.

The air cleaner is quiet, with controllable air speed, UVC light on/off option, perfect as a filter for closed-door meetings. I had it over a month, quality held up pretty good.

The Germ Guardian True HEPA Filter Air Purifier is a good choice for smaller rooms, but it’s not the best that I’ve tried.PROS:It has a HEPA filter to capture ultra-fine particles.At less than 8 pounds, it’s easily portable and can be moved from room to room.Three-speed settings - lower speeds are quieter.Pre-filter can be cleaned.Removes pollen, smoke, dust, odors and can be set to kill some germs.CONS:Cost of replacing the HEPA filter (this is true for all air purifiers) every 6-8 months.Pre-filter requires cleaning (this is true of all air purifiers).Noisier than our Honeywell.It doesn’t seem as efficient at cleaning the air when on ‘Low’ as our older Honeywell model.

I like this product does what it's meant to do.

Does what it's supposed to but wakes the dead doing it.

Moves a lot of air and made a noticeable difference in the air quality of our bedroom.

We have literally a dozen Germ Guardian Air Filters in our house. My son has asthma and my daughter has a pair of ferrets. The ferrets have scent glands that can't entirely be removed, so they have a "musky" smell that my wife hates. I don't find it as annoying, but she is not happy when the house smells like ferret.So we have littered air filters around our home.My son has asthma and the ferrets aren't a problem, but dust and other particles that can cause him to react are a problem. So we make an effort to keep the air clean all through our home, but especially in his room.ONE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW - some of these filtration devices have VERY EXPENSIVE replacement filters!!!This Germ Guardian Germ Guardian True HEPA Filter Air Purifier for Home, Office, Bedrooms, Filters Allergies, Pollen, Smoke, Dust, Pet Dander, UV-C Sanitizer Eliminates Germs, Mold, Odors, Quiet 4-in-1 AC4700BDLX is not expensive to maintain. It is a great option for a desk at work, or a bathroom!With the inexpensive filter replacement and charcoal filter I have no problem recommending this as long as you are aware of its limitations.I hope you find this review helpful. From my wife Sarah: I'm really happy with this unit. We have a LOT of the Germ Guardian's throughout our home. In fact in every room but 1. We even have the little plug in unit in our master bathroom. We really like this brand in general. The units are priced very modestly, and they work well. This one works very well for us.I've owned a few very expensive air purifiers and the Germ Guardians work just as well or even better for me. I'm very sensitive to smells, and some of these expensive ones have good filters, but they give off a smell that bothers me. This unit, along with all of my Germ Guardians don't have that smell. It may have a minor smell when you first start it, but if you let it run a little while, it stops.I like that this unit is very quiet as it runs on the lowest setting. It is a little loud when you put it on it's higher settings, but it's been keeping the air in the room its in very clean using the lowest setting. Personally though, the sound of the air filter blowing doesn't really bother me.I like that compact. I like that it has the UV light which kills germs and spores.We live in South Florida which is known as a moldy state because of the humidity. To keep good air quality we do the following:- We use a dehumidifier that we keep set to about 45% humidity. It runs non-stop and drains into the bathroom tub, so it doesn't require any work.- We have a UV light in our air conditioning unit.- We have a tiny dehumidifier that stays in our master bathroom.- We also have Germ Guardians with UV lights in all rooms but one that we don't spend a lot of time in.So as a part of our entire home air quality maintenance, I do recommend this unit. I do wish that replacement filters were not an expense, but that just goes with the territory.
