Expensive for general painting, good value for fantasy modellers
If you like to indulge in arts and crafts, you'll know there's one commonality. Be that airbrushing to model making to woodworking. If something is labelled for hobby use, it usually means it gonna cost twice as much as if labelled as household use.And that's especially true when it comes to paint. So when I saw this paint at nearly £9 for 100ml, I thought what's so special that justifies this price?Does it include a primer ? Nope. Does it need specialist techniques or dedicated tools to apply it ? Nope, any brush or sponge will do. Do I need to buy extra unique cleaners or thinners ? Nope, brushes are simply washed out with water. Then I tried it with two rather harsh tests, bare plaster and unprimed wood. What I found was it applied well to both materials, but most important was the finish. It's not super shiny or overly glossy, instead it's got a rather nice metallic sheen. A sheen that's almost identical to some specialist model paints, in particular those used when painting fantasy gaming figures.Even more so as it has a gorgeous metal like undersheen in some areas if lightly applied. So if you are looking to paint an army, this actually works out to be better value than buying 17ml pots. I could also see it being useful for painting smallish areas when signwriting. Overall ? Great for models and small jobs, way too expensive for general use.

nice paint. but uneconomical for most projects you might use it for at this size
with a stated coverage of 12sqm per litre this 100ml tin will cover 1.2sqm but with 2 coats required for a proper finish that brings us to only approx 60sqcm of coverage which at nearly nine pounds per tin makes it quite an expensive proposition even if you are wanting to use it to test the paint out.the paint itself is pretty lovely and goes on well with about the usual amount of paint odors and is easy to clean up. the dried finish is nice and as the name suggests is ideal for upcycling furniture for that shabby chic look.do yourself a favour and just go for the 1l tin as this size works out to be 3.3x more expensive per litre (£84.50 vs £24.95).

Love the colour and finish!
This little pot of paint completely transformed the table in our art room! As you can see from the before photo, it was very tatty and the surface had gone in places, but after painting it looks so much better. There were patches where the inner material of the table was showing through, and they do still show a little with this paint on, but it is still so much better. It is quite expensive (£8.45 for this 100ml pot) but I was able to do 2 coats, and still have enough left over to keep to touch it up if I need to later. It’s a really lovely colour and the shiny metallic finish looks so good.If you’re doing a fairly small project, I would recommend!

Lovely colour
Deep red furniture paint, it goes on nicely, I only needed one coat on the trim I painted so this small tin was ideal.

Expensive for the size of the pot.
While I appreciate that it is my fault that I hadn't noticed the size of this when I ordered it I do feel it is very expensive for the size, and the size is more suited to model painting than any larger items of outdoor furniture.I ordered it to repaint all of the outside window ledges and the front doorstep so I haven't had a chance to use it yet as I am waiting for warmer weather so I cannot comment on how well it goes on and dries but I will edit my review at a later date.
