First off, the SSD came with the holding screw that you use to brace the card down after sticking it in the M.2 slot AND the screwdriver for it. This is great since I keep hearing of SSD cards that don't come with the screw. Good thinking by the manufacturer! Setting it up was a breeze. You have to initialize the drive first using a driver-cloning software (I used the free version of Partition Wizard that can be downloaded but be aware the software comes with a bunch of bloatware). That is how the computer will recognize it. Then you can either partition the free space or clone the OS partition from your current drive, depending on how you plan to use it. I benchmarked the card to have a random read/write speed of around 500MBps/470MBps, which is close to the advertised speeds. After cloning and doing a fresh reinstall of the OS, my Direkt-Tek laptop does run snappier and can enjoy much more free space than what the original eMMC drive came with. I recommend this one over other similar 2242 SSDs because its read/write speeds are a lot higher while still being of a similar price range.

My Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2015 Model) gave me the Chrome white screen of death after 3 years. I didn't know what was wrong, but this was my favorite laptop and I wanted to fix it if possible. After some research, I read to hit the Tab key on the white screen and it coughed up the details: The drive had failed.I had read that this drive was compatible, so I ordered it and it installed quite easily once I got the back panel off the Toshiba. (Hint: There are 2 additional hidden screws under the rubber feet on the bottom!)I don't know how long this drive will last, but six months so far, no issues and it seems fast. I hope to get at least 3 years out of it. But if it fails prematurely I'll update this review.Update: After 1 year, still no issues.

1st time using an SSD in this baby (Thinkpad W540), I had to swap out my Ericsson WWAN card as this also uses the M.2 slot exclusively, went in with 0 effort that I thought I did something wrong,enabled the WWAN port from BIOS as I had always had it disabled in the past, Windows 10 detected it instantly as SB2, uninitialized drive.I didn't want the headache of cloning my old junk over from a 1TB HDD so I did a fresh install of Win10 x64 1803 via a DVD, selected the SB2 as destination and Cortana handled the rest for me,after installing all my drivers I am still gobsmacked how good it feels to use this machine again,

The PC only had 32gb storage so I needed to upgrade.Very easy to install, I would recommend it.

Installed in new 2020 Acer Aspire 5 laptop - fits without issue.
