Good pump for supplemental use
My favorite thing abut this pump is that it allows you to recline while pumping. You can't lie flat, but you don't have to be straight up. A 45 degree angle is sufficient. I do it in bed with a pillow behind my back. The hospital machine made me sit straight up, and even lean over. This one doesn't.All of the parts (but the tubing and of course the electric pump) are dishwasherable. I would suggest getting more than one bottle setup so that you can have a second ready to go without washing the first one. You can feed directly from the bottle/nipple this comes with, or transfer to storage bottles or bags.I got the single pump because I rarely have two hands free anyway, and those bras to hold on two bottles on at once don't look like they'd get enough of a seal. I use this several times a week to pump milk so that I can leave the house occasionally. Baby's appetite has me on a short leash. It is fairly comfortable, and the letdown mode works for me. If it isn't working for you, try letting the baby start on one side, then switching her to the other to feed, and pumping from the first breast. Also check to make sure you have all of the components installed in the bottle setup - if the membrane is not in there it won't work.I am about 2 months postpartum at writing, and I can get about 2 oz in ten minutes with this pump, provided I have a good milk supply at the time. Mornings are usually best. It takes me about a half hour to get enough for one feeding. Earlier in my babies life I was not able to get as much - the output also depends on your supply.The noise level on this is noticeable, but not obnoxious. It is about the volume of normal conversation and sounds like "WHIRRR WHIRRR" I can hold the baby and have it going without it bothering her - but she will startle if she is sleeping and I turn it on right next to her. It does not wake the hubby.
