Still the best
The old adage that you get what you pay for is never truer when it comes to drum sticks. Sure, you can buy discounted brands for a third of the price but they won't last you. Vic Firth sticks have never let me down and a pair will last me for months. Well made, perfectly balanced and durable.

They break too easily - there seems to be a quality control issue
I have been using this brand and model of sticks for years but recently the sticks I have bought via the internet have been breaking far too quickly. The most recent pair didn't even last a whole gig - I got LESS THAN 1 HOUR play out of them before one stick split, not at the tip but near the hilt. I am not a hard hitter. I sent these back to Amazon for a refund but I have reluctantly decided to switch brands. Now testing out Vater and and Pro Mark equivalents.

Wooden, but a good'un
I have yet to discover the perfect stick. You'd think that after putting a man on the moon and it being the year 2000 and all we'd have materials a bit better than wood for this, but until then - rock on with these.
