Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Brew Strength Selector

Although my years-old Mr. Coffee still works perfectly, the hot plate has started to crumble, so I've invested in a new Mr. Coffee. As expected, the new version also brews excellent coffee, and its updated appearance is a bonus. Only negative is that the "coffee ready" beep occurs well before all water has dripped through the grounds -- brewed coffee is actually not fully ready for roughly another 5-7 minutes.

I have one I've been using for years that has been flawless in operation and unyielding in quality. The one I have has never smelled burned or like cooked plastic and the coffee has always been excellent. I purchased a spare when I saw the price climbing in various outlets and now have a pair for less then they are selling now. The first one has several years of two pots a day without fail.

We have always had Mr Coffee products, this one didn't disappoint. The coffee flavor is great. It also comes with an internal filter, in case you have hard water which we do. The only thing I would improve is the lid attachment. We have found that it is not secure and will dislodge when carafe becomes less full. While pouring coffee, keep hands free of cup in case it dislodges. There is a possibility the remaining HOT coffee will scald your hand if you are holding you cup. regardless, very good coffee maker.

Purchase this coffee pot as an upgrade from our $20 pot that finally stopped working. Overall, we are happy with the product. The coffee maker itself tends to hold a lot of moisture after the coffee is made and the grounds are more moist than one would normally expect. Also produces a fair amount of water vapor while brewing. The lights are a little too bright for our liking but nothing noticeable until you turn off the lights in the kitchen at the end of the night. I like the audible beeping to let me know the coffee is ready, but my husband thinks it's a little too loud. Makes a great pot of coffee, doesn't burn the grounds. Also, there's always a tiny bit of coffee left in the pot when pouring but not a huge deal. Review update: This coffee pot lasted us about six years and then the heating element went out. Overall a good coffee pot for the price point. We decided to upgrade after this one stopped working, but I would recommend it for others looking for a good coffee pot in this price range.

I wanted a basic drip coffee maker with a couple of features. It serves. It makes a tasty cups of coffee and turns itself off after two hours (so I don’t burn the flask). The added filter for the grounds seems to make a difference for the better. I do not care for the waste produced by the single cup makers and generally only have 2 cups at a time. Recommend.

Liquid of the Gods is a must before work and this coffee maker delivers! Fast really doesn't describe it. Keep the coffee hot and one can steal a cup while it's brewing. Cons: see through water level is on the side towards the back but still usable. Haven't tried the set timer yet and will update when I do.

Sending it back for a refund, very displeased since it had high reviews. Expect more from Mr. Coffee. While running just water through it after I first unboxed it, before making actual coffee, it had an extremely strong plastic smell, which I figured would go away as it got used, but I have seen other reviews suggesting it did not. I ran just water through three times, three pots that night, and it nearly overflowed twice. I fortunately caught it both times. What appeared to have happened is the basket was not set just exactly, perfectly right so the spring stayed “up” and the water could not drip down through the basket into the pot. Instead it filled up the basket. As a result, the basket nearly overflowed the hot water everywhere. I jostled the basket a little and it got itself set and the water poured through. I was a little concerned but I figured I could just double check the basket when I brew. User error, right? Wrong. I did double check the basket making coffee this morning, and somehow it still didn’t set right, or possibly got knocked off center when I closed the lid due to the design. But lo and behold, the basket overflowed hot coffee and grounds everywhere. Very poorly designed. There are plenty of other fine coffee pots on the market that don’t require someone to hover over them while a simple pot of coffee brews. I’ve never had to do that before. I’ll look for another simple Mr. Coffee pot.

My star ratings are based on my personal knowledge if this MODEL. I returned this most recent one, because the seller sent me an incorrect carafe,the instructions were torn, there were no filters (coffee or water), and the box had clearly suffered some damage and had been opened and resealed. The MODEL is superb. The seller's shipment was not.
