Review: Great Book - I can't say enough about these "who was" books. My granddaughter (age 7) loves reading them and learning about great historical figures. I have never seen her so interested in reading! Yes, these books do tell the truth about a subject and the time frame in which they lived. This can be objectionable and/or disheartening to some but these are facts, rather one agrees with them or not! The reality of life is people can achieve greatness! They can also fail on their journey. They can also overcome their mistakes. We have read 3 of these "who was" books so far and I think all of these books inspire young people and open the door for additional discussion between the young reader and an adult. I will be buying more "who was" books. Review: Education - I donated these wonderful readers to the kids section of our local library. I am excited to know that children will learn about these historical people.

My kids LOVE this series of books
We have multiple books from this series. Our children love them. The illustrations are not too "babyish" and there are lots of pop-outs in the sidelines that dive deeper into the story. I also like that they include personal details about the person such as their interests when they were young.

Great Intro to Kids Bibliographies
Reading this book for a college education course, easy read, good explanations, and relatively short and concise. I think I’m going to get a bunch of The Who Was? books for my classroom.

Nice book for an 8 year old
Love these books. My son, who is 9 has been reading them for a little over a year now and this book is wonderful. I must say that this one is not one of his favorites. He is a history junkey, lol. He so far seems to love the Jackie Robinson, Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Robert E Lee, What is the world series the best as a 8 and 9 year old. I also read these to him in the evenings and I really enjoy them as a 40 year old father. I have learned so much from them as well. Sometimes I read them before or after my son in order to have an educated discussion with him about the subject of the book. I really also get alot out of them as well.

Such interesting facts!
We love this whole series! Each book contains such interesting facts about the person featured. So educational but children don't even realize how much they are learning. Highly recommend!

True stories for children
I've loved this series for several years initially giving them to my godchild and now to my children. They are easy to read biographies. This one of Marie Curie was my daughter's favorite: glad that she's learning of smart women who were independent and strong. Parents: be aware that the books do mention the themes of birth, death, cancer, war, sexism, violence, etc.
