Dear Black Girl: Equip, Empower, Enlighten

This book is short, simple, and sweet. It’s also uplifting and inspiring. This makes it easy to read and not intimidating for a sometimes moody/ objecting pre teen. It’s just what my twelve yo needed! The book has space throughout to write and asks reflective questions. I’m so grateful to the author and to have found this book.

I originally purchased this book in support of its phenomenal author Mrs. Kimberly Abad. After the book arrived, I began to flip through, then I started to really read the words. Shortly after, I was enjoying a cup of hot tea & really taking in this book. I’m even doing the activities that she gives us to do with each lesson. As a black woman I resonate with this book on so many levels. I’m 39 yrs old; I found this book to not only be encouraging but I found it extremely Helpful! Sometimes as black girls & women, we don’t always get the support we need from Day 1; but you can in this book! This book is an absolute MUST HAVE, buy it for yourself, your daughters, nieces, cousins, etc. To have another black woman look at you & not only say, “You are Worth it”; Kimberly Abad wrote it down, so We can always look at those words & know they are true!

Brought this as a gift for my niece, we are reading it together. This is really helpful in engaging with her and adding value to her as she grows and matures. The book also allows for deep meaningful conversations to dispel negative thoughts and expectations young girls experience in today's world of social media.

My two daughters loved this book and I highly recommend this book for any parent with daughters. It is a must read to instill confident in our young ladies.

I purchased the book for my children, it was a very great book. The book wasn’t difficult to read it keep my kids attention and it also had an area at the bottom of each section for you to right in comments about what you thought!

I did not like some of the content. I read before gifting to my 15 year old which I’ve decided this wouldn’t be a good fit for her. I gave it 4 stars in support of the author.

My Grandchildren enjoy reading books and 📚. And the youngest are 6 years old. They have read Bible. Now we are entering into the Easter Season and they will understand it better. AMEN.

I bought this book for my 10yr old daughter, my oldest daughter is 22 and took a look inside this book and was like, “mom, I’ve gotta get me one too” . She suffers from manic depression and this book is not only for reading and building character or self confidence but it’s also for journalism as well. There are pages throughout each section to write down your own understanding and thoughts. Love Love Love It
