The new formula is not as good as the old one.
I've had Okabashi sandles for numerous years. My last pair of tried and trues gave up on me in the spring. Decided I needed another pair despite the mixed reviews about the new material. The change of formulation of the material the shoes are made from is very noticeable. I have worn Okabashi for many years the new pair does not have the same type of support the old ones did. The sandle is significantly more flexible than they use to be and the height available from the footbed to the strap is less than before so it is actually cutting into the top of my foot.Wish the company would go back to the old formula. This use to be a great product.

The new material squeeks, its obnoxious!
I've been wearing Okabashi for many many years, just around the house, and just got a new pair of the Okabashi Men’s Eurosport Flip Flops - Sandals..I've had a number of other styles, last couple of Okabashi I had these.so was looking around at some of stores that would normally have these sandals but couldn't find my style. My other ones by now were too far gone to keep so I came on ebay and looked around. I looked at some of the reviews and did catch at least one comment abut the new material is not as good for some reason, but I didn't take it seriously enough because I didn't know what they meant. When I got the sandals, which arrived on time and fine as well as fitting the same, but I noticed when I walk on floors, they squeak like mad and its making me look for a new pair of sandals to wear around the house, obviously ones that don't make a sound on the ground, or around town!I really am sorry to have to say this since I have been a loyal customer for many many years, that I can't remember

Verified purchase: Slide more than adequate and well worth the cost
Verified purchase: After reading sample size of all the reviews on this footwear, I found a mixed bag of opinions (meaning personal preferences). For my requirements which were for a heavy duty pair of slides in black. I’m outside 24 hours a day in the summertime around my land. So required a rugged pair of slides, which breathed. These slide have hit the mark for me thus far. I was, and I continue to be very satisfied with the purchase. I read several reviews concerning the sizing that they actually deliver, it is true that the slides are not sized “visually imprint” by inches at all per se, but by the large “L” on the sole indicating “Large”. So just to verify what other reviewers have indicated the size is actually distributed by category (S,M,L, XL etc.), not at all by Inches (sizes)...and so as to share with the community I ordered the size 8.5 to 9 and and the fit was more than adequate...and so you understand further, I were a size 9 truly. This information will hopefully offer a point of reference for future consumers. In addition, the soles are thick and quite durable. There are plenty of air inlets cuts in the design of the flap that covers’ the top of the foot. The design is extremely helpful and purposefulness as the cuts permit the skin to breathe more, rather than all covered in the rubbery material which the slides are primarily composed of.Understanding that if you are completely switching brand and style or design in slides that you currently using or were using, that these may perhaps some getting use too. It’s just different and difference or change is not a so-called bad thing. It’s just different. Personal choice.

Super Comfortable Support
I love Okabashi slippers. I work at home and wear them all day and night at home. I wear women's size 40 Eur/9 US shoe size. I find the male Okabashi shoe 8/8.5 is a great fit, with a slightly wider footbed than the women's Okabashi, and ultimately more comfortable. I have been wearing this brand for over two decades and purchased a new pair every summer at my local Walgreens. Amazon has comparable prices and variety of styles and colors. They are guaranteed for two years. Since I live in mine, I do not necessarily expect them to last two years before splitting on the side. For the price, I discard and start a new pair which I have pre-purchased and standing by. With the male size, I can comfortably wear with socks in winter. My number one reason for always wearing Okabashi is that I have very flat feet and love the support I get with my Okabashi shoes.I also keep a pair in my vehicle as driving shoes, for safety and to save wear/tear on my high heels and dress shoes. I can quickly slip in and out. They can be rinsed with water and always retain their new looks and support until they literally fall apart from you loving them and wearing them so much. Try a pair, you will not regret the purchase.

A godsend for sore feet
I have fallen arches, bunions, arthritis, heel spurs, and also suffer from sciatica. On top of this, I suffered four herniated discs in my lower spine about 12 years ago. Nothing and I mean nothing gave me as much relief as these sandals. You don't think about supporting your feet when you're just chilling at home and that's a big mistake if you have my problems. I put these on as soon as I wake up in the morning, Wear them outside whenever the weather permits, I kid you not these sandals are sometimes the only thing keeping me from wanting to drive my car off of a bridge. They last a long time and this is probably my fifth or sixth pair in 25 years. They stopped making these sandals my life is officially over
