It works
Why pay more than twice as much for the "Inmotion Pro" version ($120)? This Life crutch ($50) seems very sturdy, comfortable, light and elegant. I guess the difference is that the other has a fancier shape, heavier handles with right/left flanges to lean on, and comes in colors, and has rocking tips and apparently a spring. Also it has an elastic cord inside that is supposed to make it easy to fold the pieces, meaning that the cord will be stretched and rubbed against the metal rims whenever you do that: not a good idea in hiking poles, much less for crutches, because you're trusting your life to a rubber band. If you weigh more than 300 pounds, you *might* want the pro; otherwise, why bother? I happened to have the same heavy grips (ordered separately, tried to return, they said just keep 'em); put those on, but changed back: really too heavy and annoying, because they only work one way, so crutches are not interchangeable. These grips that come with the Life crutch are solid plastic (no padding to shred), like bike handles, and half the weight (seriously!) and there's no right or left to worry about. Both grips slant downward, which is just fine, and the cheap ones have a longer screw socket, which is good. The non-rocking tips and the lack of spring mean less rinky-dink tech to break (and I worry when I put my weight on a crutch or pole and it compresses; feels like the ground is shifting). You will want to take the grips to the hardware store and get a locking washer, the split kind, which comes free with the pro grips. The underarm portion has a cheap tube of padding around it, which will probably shred, and I suppose you can get pipe insulation to fit, or something cool at a bike shop, to replace this when you need to. (I bet ths is why they say this cheaper set is only good for a month's use!) Duct tape will help. If you like colors, you could pimp your gimp (Doonesbury ref.) with spray-on enamel.I had a problem with the little buttons, not having that strong a pinch. I found that it helped to step on the crutch top while pinching buttons with one hand and twisting the top (bottom) piece with the other. Twisting first, to get the buttons out of line with all those holes, otherwise you have to keep pinching as you pull the end, and this is hard. Twist to put the buttons out of sight and pull that foot-end till it is as long as you like (count holes), then twist back till you see the buttons again, and let them pop up.These things are light and stable and less obtrusive than the crutches with two sides, and the hook top is useful to pull at things from a distance, like a shepherd's crook. So far so good!

Life Crutches Are Life Saving!
These are amazing crutches! For the price and for what they do, these are perfection!I have a friend who could really use some new crutches! So that is the reason why I got these! He is an older gentleman who doesn't have a lot of money but who needs these crutches like you wouldn't believe,so I plan to give these to him as soon as I am finished reviewing! The material used is high quality and extremely durable! They are designed to look a bit futuristic but it's all for the sake of better posture! They are lightweight and easy to move in, compared to the more clunky and heavy things I used to see all the time. The ergonomic handles unique design helps to keep your wrists in a natural position so you won't get carpel tunnel or sore wrists, unlike many other crutches on the market. They can support up to 300Ibs and fit someone between 4'6" to 6'7" with great ease.I would recommend these for anyone who has an active lifestyle who needs to move and be on the move but is reduced to a state of being idle due to their old, not to easy on the body, crutches!another good feature is that they have articulating crutch tips, so you can be sure you'll always have a secure footing.I really love these crutches, compared to the more expensive ones out there, these are perfect!I recommend these to anyone who needs support and needs a durable, heavy-duty yet lightweight set of crutches!5/5-The following rating comes from:1 star- Packaging. (Is the item packaged well?)1 star- Quality & Materials. (Is the item made well?)1 star- Functions & Usability. (Does the item work well?)1 star- Construction & Design. (Does the item look good?)1 star- Quality Strength & Weight. (Does the item feel good?)-How I review:Based on those 5 mentions above, I take everything into consideration before posting a final review. Also, I use mere common sense when it comes to rating. Is the product worth this amount of stars? Is it not? What would I improve? Is the negative I dislike, if any at all, something that is an error in construction & design or is it something the company couldn't possibly control? And, if all else fails, can I do something to alternate or change the ability of this negative? All this and more is considered before I post.I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, so I decided to take the liberty to post reviews on items I think deserve it.Because I want people who are genuinely interested to know more about the product before they commit. These are my own opinions, I am doing this review merely for the sake of reviewing and expressing my freedom to review.Thank you!

Lightweight, comfortable crutches. Good for short-term use.
I was recently recovering from a hip surgery, expecting to be on crutches for about 8 weeks. Compared to normal axillary crutches, these are awesome. The slight angle in the handles make it far more comfortable on the wrists. I also find these to be lighter than normal crutches, allowing me to be more agile. The one negative on this product is that I felt the handles started to loosen up after the first 2 weeks of use. I am not very heavy (140#), and I was partial weight bearing on the crutches. Even with that, I felt that I had to consistently re-tighten the screws on the handles or else they would kind of wobble. This is a minor issue, but something that gets annoying quickly.

Best purchase ever!!!
I recently broke my foot and now will be in a cast for a while. The crutches they gave me at the hospital kept wearing on my wrists to where I had to start wearing wristbands to prevent any more wounds. Then after 1 week one of the foot stops wore through. I thought there had to be a better alternative to the same design dating back to the civil war. This is it!!!! So sturdy and comfortable. Worth every penny! The foam was wearing through on one of the handles and I ordered replacements online at their site along with some extra foot stops just in case as I might be using them for a while. I actually got a phone call from the company to ask about my order. Turns out that I ordered the wrong handles and he talked me out of ordering 2 extra sets of foot stops saying that they last a long time. Actually saved me money. Outstanding customer service and a truly great product that is long overdue. Through the ones from your doctor away. Bonus: I was in a restaurant and the server told me that she saw a pro athlete with them on TV once. In addition to great function they are as cool as a crutch can be.
