If you are really into German thras and a sodom fan..buy this dvd....the live preformance is a masterpiece...you get to see former members..

The beginning of this metal documentary starts out by panning grunge and 90's era music for squashing the soul of Sodom. Then, you see footage of some spoof metal band (Randallica?) longer than you see any Sodom footage. The live clips they show barely contain any music. You seem to hear more of Tom's side projects rather than any Sodom songs. The Sodom tunes they do play just seem to be a looped riff of the same song. It focuses on the stability of the current line-up and how the band members deal with playing festivals and living on the road. It is bizarre to hear the members admit that they grew up knowing tom but never even heard agent Orange or older stuff from Sodom. And Tom never reveals why for years he had to constantly replace entire line ups. You see longer footage from his country-metal side project Desperado than you do a full Sodom song. The footage they used from Dynamo was barely audible and some live shots were literally taken from the TV, complete with title screen from station.at almost 400 minutes this thing needed an editor and less CGI animation in between chapters and more live footage from Sodom in the docu. It is supposed to be a Sodom docu not a Tom Angelripper achievement ceremony. The docu complains about metallica, Slayer and Pantera in the 90's slowing things down yet it is okay for his current line up to admit that there is more groove in their beat now and that they have their own style for Sodom??UPDATE - As of March 2011, the drummer, Bobby, has left the band which makes this documentary even less neccessary.

I enjoyed this DVD as much as the first set, perhaps even more as the 25th anniversary concert was beautiful. For those of us who have never had to privilege of seeing Sodom play live, this was fantastic, especially to see Blackfire on stage playing Proselytism Real, a song that I don't think they have played live since '86 or so, if ever. Hearing him play and sing backing vocals on those old tracks was worth the purchase alone. Also Andy Brings brings it (ha ha), and the version of Die Wachturm that they play when Atomic Steif's drum mics weren't operating is just golden. Michael Hoffman's playing was also a real highlight, but really everyone put in a decent showing.The interviews disc was great, and it was good to get some more background on Onkel Tom and The Desperados. I also really appreciated hearing more about the history of the current lineup with Bernemann and Bobby and the reunion with Grave Violator and Witch Hunter. The details of Witch Hunter's life after Sodom and the interview with his mother were a bit disturbing though ... seems like his world caved in after he was kicked out of Sodom for his alcoholism

Um der Wahrheit Genüge zu tun:mit der "Musik" von Sodom kann ich selbst im Vollrausch nicht das allergeringste anfangen, gönne aber jedem Fan weltweit seinen Spass damit.Kenne einen (mittlerweile ex-) Sodomisten persönlich, bin bei Youtube auf "Lords of Depravity Teil 1" gestossen und war von der gut gemachten Dokumentation so überzeugt, dass ich die DVD haben musste. Vorweg: die Ausgabe hat sich gelohnt! :)Ob man den Sound oder auch nur das Genre nun mag oder nicht: diese Doku haut echt rein. Die Jungs sind unerwartet authentisch und sympathisch. Und der Werdegang dieser Band aus den Tiefen des Ruhrpotts ist ebenso legendär wie spannend.Die 200 (!) Minuten machen echten Spass und vergehen ruck-zuck. Hab die Scheibe jetzt schon zum dritten mal gesehen und bin nach wie vor begeistert.Fazit: für Ruhrpottler, Musiker (auch für nicht Metaller) und auch sonst alle Doku-Fans empfehlenswert, für Thrasher ein absolutes Muss

Die Lords Of Depravity Part II fängt dort an, wo der erste Teil aufhörte. DVD 1 zeigt einen kurzweiligen, aber sehr ausführlichen Ausflug in die Bandhistorie von 1995 bis heute inclusive aller Sodom, Onkel Tom und Desperados Albumproduktionen. Neben den Bandmitgliedern kommen auch Produzenten, Musiker und viele anderen zu Wort. Das ganze wie gewohnt mit kurzen Videoeinspielungen und Fotos. DVD 2 enthält neben der Wacken-Show von 2007 (mit ehemaligen Bandmitgliedern) noch einige Videos und Outtakes. Alles in super Qualität. Bild (16:9)und Ton (2.0 oder 5.1). Die Doppel DVD ist für alle Sodom - bzw. Thrash Metal Fans oder die es noch werden wollen, ein muss. Alles in Allem eine Klasse Doppel DVD in schönem Digi-Book Schuber und eine unbedingte Ergänzung zu Lords Of Depravity Part I. Also Leute: nicht zögern, kaufen!!!

nicht ganz so interessant vom Dokumentarischen standpunkt ( der erste teil bot neben der bandgeschichte einen schönen ausblick auf die metal szene in den kinderschuhen) aber dennoch eine unterhaltsame dvd mit gutem konzert als 2t dvd mit fast 5 stunden spielzeit lange unterhaltung
