Joe Satriani - The Extremist

Excellent book

This is a 'blast from the past' review I hope you will find useful! I got into the guitar pretty late in my teens. and thanks to a family member I found Joe Satriani. Now the album itself is absolutely astonishing (but that's another review) so I thought to myself "hey, maybe I can play some of these songs!". So back in July 2004 (yes 10 years ago) I found this book on Amazon and bought it instantly.The tabs are very easy to follow if you know how to read them. There is a legend page within the book to explain some of the symbols meanings for those who aren't 100% familiar with tablature. No as a novice to the guitar I have to say this book was slightly over my head. I lack the talent to ever play the guitar at this level and 10 years on I can honestly say I can't play one of these songs all the way through. But damn was it fun to try! Every song from the album is tabbed out in detail with some sections containing multiple guitar tracks to learn or have your friends to learn in my case.If anything, attempting to learn these tracks fuelled my love of the guitar. It helped me to understand the music a lot more and how Joe is able to make his guitars do what they do. I can't vouch for the book being 100% accurate as when I saw Joe live one time and he played Tears in the Rain (as he seldom does) he did play it very differently to what is tabbed out here. But any guitarist will know that there isn't just one way to play a song! So I will not mark it down for that.If you're a Joe Satriani fan and enjoy playing the guitar chances are you either already have this in your collection by now, or are gifted enough to work the songs our for yourself. But if you're like me and just fancy attempting a few bits and pieces, dive in. You won't be disappointed.

Super Magnifique très belle illustration des Tablatures dommage quel sont écrit un peu petit, sinon top des top, je le conseil à tous les fans de Joe Satriani "Satch "sont surnom pour ce qu'il ne savais pas lol.

Colis bien emballé et arrivé très rapidement.Le contenue correspond bien à l'attendu.Les tablatures ont l'air complètes et très bien détaillées.Dommage que le talent de Satch ne soit pas fourni avec ;)
