First and foremost, it works as advertised! Just plug an M2 SSD in, close the door, connect to computer, use windows Disk Management tool, configure the SSD, DONE. Afterwards, it shows as an external drive. It's got an external aluminum body which makes it sturdy and works as a heat sink. As such, it gets warm to the touch which is to be expected. It's about 4-5/8" (11.7 cm) long and 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) width and 1/2" (1.2 cm) thick, so it's very small and portable, and so MUCH more convenient than a common USB memory stick. It comes with a small USB-C to USB-C cable. Tested on my HP laptop with USB 3, I get 523 MB/s sequential read speed 192 MB/s write. This of course depends on so many things that it's only useful to show that it works fast. Your conditions can be much better or much worse. Be sure to use a USB 3 port for maximum speed.

This is my second purchase of this exact enclosure. Works like a charm. I have a 4 TB NVMe in the original for 4 years now and still works perfectly. Yes it costs a little more than many other brands. I do feel it is a little too high but still bought it because I know the quality already. It will take any M.2 form factor up to 2280 or NVMe or Sata in the same form factor. No tools needed for quick change out of the drive. It's PCIe 4 so reasonably fast transferring large files. i been buying Sabrent Drives & other products since back when not many parties trusted them. Never had a single problem with anything. I will say they don't always get my money now simply because their prices have been pretty high.

If you need an external storage enclosure for your SSD, this is it. It's important to consider things like the manufacturer for storage, and SABRENT is a US-based company. So you won't have to worry about sketchy certificates populating your store when you use this thing on your devices. It supports UASP, like most modern external drive enclosures (and internal SSDs, even) so by default, this thing is a USB-Attached SCSI Device. It appears both as a Sabrent-branded USB Mass Storage Device in your File Explorer/Device Manager. Your SSD will also appear properly as a Drive, but since there's a 'virtual gap' between the hardware and the OS, it's technically a USB device (unless you have a Thunderbolt config that behaves otherwise) and so your SSD's software may not interact or even detect the proper specifications of the SSD it's meant to service. For example, my Samsung Magician software doesn't provide the feature for the Samsung SSD in the enclosure because it's only read as a more or less generic SSD. This doesn't take away from the SSD's capacity as a storage drive, though, and you can still do anything else an SSD/drive would normally do, but there's definitely downsides to using an external device unless you've got a highspeed setup. Overall? No sketchy certs from cheaper manufacturers, and I can use my third SSD the way it's meant to be used. If you've got a weird or off-brand SSD, I'd use an enclosure if you also have SSDs that have supported software from the manufacturers (like Samsung). Keep the best ones on the board. Use this if you're looking to boot another OS or backup a few PCs lol.

Works like a charm for everything i need! Popped a 2TB WD Nvme and although my computers dont have USB4 ports, Im still getting literally 4x the speeds i was getting with my old Passport eHDD. It was even plug n play with my iPhone 16 Pro Max so I can record apple prores/log video! Phone automatically detects the SSD and allows you to record RAW video straight to the drive and transfers 2GB/sec which is insane to me. I cant imagine i'll need anything faster for quite some time. The fan is not silent of course, but overall for what it is, its compact, portable and FAST

Very fast and cool. I have experienced no issues with the enclosure. Easy to install the card and easy to use. I especially liked the design with the flip up lid to access the enclosure. This means that the case is able to have good contact between the drive and the thermal pad to allow heat transfer. Other cases with slide on covers will not be able to get good contact leading to potential overheating. (One of the main reasons I went with this product over others)
