This toy needs to redone by IDEAL!!!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son and regret it now. Out of all the gifts this one was a huge let down. The concept is cool but the final product isn't playable....at all. I don't mind the batteries it uses as it does need power for a black light up top and power to blow the fans. The glow effect does the trick. The actually blower itself is weak and it needs more holes to keep the puck moving. The hugest mistake here is the flippers and there buttons.....after 5 minutes of use they were sticking real bad and hard to push down for my little boy. It makes this toy/game unplayable. I'll be returning and trying to get the other mini air hockey table IDEAL has for sale. I have a couple of there products and they are fun but this one is a DUD!

Sturdy fun for the young and old(er)
When my kids came back from an arcade birthday party, they couldn't stop talking about how much they loved the air hockey. When I saw this, I knew I had to pick it up. This is probably one of my kids' favorite toys. They love playing against each other and I love when I get a turn to play with them ( so I can attest that it holds up to my playing, which is great). Definitely good for the young and the old(er).

I hesitated to buy this table because of the negative reviews, but it worked out very well for us. I put aa batteries in it, because I didn't have C batteries. I used paper around the outside of the batteries to make a holder and it still worked great. The lights were cool and the air blew for a long time. My son was so happy with this. We put it away after a while, but I am confident it will work when we use it again. I would recommend this little table.

Think twice
The only reason I'm not to crazy about this toy is it need 5 batteries.2 C for the fans and 3 AA for the light.and the pucks will eventually get lost and then it will be thrown away. Not bad but won't survive for long.

Not worth the money
It is very small, unless this is for a toddler the hand grips are too small. Didn't light up as advertised, even with new batteries. My 8 year old didn't like it.

Disc does not glide enough for me
Eh, so-so. The puck (disc) did not glide along the surface as much as I hoped it would. But it makes a good stocking-stuffer. Once its played with a few times it will find a permanent home in the back of your kid's closet....where most other toys of this nature end up.

Very Disappointed!
Gave this to my nephew for his 5th Birthday on 8/9 and just found out from my brother-in-law that the game was great but after about an hour of play the motor burned out. Can a replacement be sent??

Needs a better blower motor.
I wanted this to be a fun toy for my sons 6th birthday. It's easy to put together but requires alot of batteries 3-AA and 2-C.I put the game together which was easy and required no tools, accept a screw driver to get at the battery compartments. And when my son and I were playing it, I saw that the "puck" was getting stuck on the outer edges of the game board. As I was investigating this I noticed that there aren't enough holes on the outer edges of the playing surface to keep the "puck"floating along to keep the game moving along smooth.I guess I'm having buyers remorse but while it lasts and with the glaring design flaw, we'll play it for all it's worth.Which I'm going to guess isn't going to be for long.
