Is there a break in period? My left foot is smaller and the arch support lands too far down. Feels like I'm stepping on something

They'll break down after extended use but my oldest pair is about 5 years old and I still wear them

What fabric is between the toes

It is the same material that the strap is made of. I’m assuming some sort of nylon fabric. The strap and “thong” portion are one continuous piece of material. I’m one my 4th or 5th pair of these and have never had an issue with quality of materials, comfort, or craftsmanship. Be warned that if you will be regularly getting them wet that the strap material can become smelly just like a regular shoe. Wash in the washer with baking soda and vinegar and good as new.
