The pliers seem great, but the image shown on the product purchase page is for Klein Tools J2139NECRN, which has yellow handles and wire strippers. If you buy this item you will not receive the product shown in the images, you will receive Klein Tools J2000-9NE, which has blue handles, no wire strippers, and a different crimping system. I know because I purchased the item twice and both times received something other than what is shown in the photographs. You can purchase J2139NECRN if you search for it using that item description.

Klein Tools J2000-9NECR
These Klein NE style lineman’s pliers are the ones I’ve used for decades. I switched to these Journeyman 2000 series with the hardened cutters back when Klein first came out with them and have been happy with them. I’ve own several other brands of lineman’s pliers that I’ve tried over the years but, they just don’t feel right to me so have always stuck with the Klein’s. I like the narrower head that the NE style pliers have and the Journeyman grips feel very good in my hand, even when wearing gloves. The 2000 series with the hardened cutters are the only one I’ll buy because the standard cutters just won’t last with the type of abuse they will get every day. My lineman’s pliers seem to be the default all-purpose tool, from hammer, conduit reamer, nail and screw cutter, messenger cutter, wire scraper to acorn wrench. These pliers also have the crimper die which is very handy for crimping Buchanan’s when making up equipment ground connections and other non-insulated crimp terminals.

Bought these along with comparable models from knipex and Irwin. I really wanted to like these but I ended up returning them because the cutting blades on the jaws didn't close completely, meaning you could see daylight through them when they were "closed". The knipex and irwin both had a looser broken in feel right away. The knipex seemed to open the widest but I didn't measure it. I did a bunch of test splices, crimps with all three. Seems to me they all crimp the same and pull fish tape the same. It was honestly hard to tell the difference in the cutting power with 10-14ga nm cable. The knipex seemed to open the widest and maybe cut slightly better than the irwins. The fact that the cutting jaws didn't close all the way on the kleins was a deal breaker. In the end, I sent back the Kleins and Irwins as well and kept the knipex.

Best Lineman plier by the best Lineman plier people.
Just for clarification this review is for the Klein J2000-9NECRTP model with Journeyman grips, 2000 series for cutting hardened materials, a crimper and a fish tape puller. This pair is flawless. Perfect machining and polishing, zero gap in the side cutter jaws, crosshatched area in the nose closes up tight but doesn't touch (as designed) and a tight but smooth riveted joint that falls open in hand with gravity. No break in required and nothing out of place. These are one of Klein's most expensive models but they do it all. Cut soft AND hardened materials, crimp terminals, pull flat fish tapes with ease. If you use Linemans every day just spend the money on these and cheap out somewhere else.

“Journeyman” stamp was not on the pliers like the picture resembled
My journeyman Klein’s did not come with the “journeyman” stamp logo on the backside of the pliers. Other than that, it is what I’ve come to expect from Amazon, you don’t always get what the pictures resemble and are stated on the listing of the item that is being advertised. All and all you can’t go wrong with Klein tools, especially in the electrical industry. Love my Klein products, but looks like Knipex is manufacturing an equal or more superior product/tool based on the reviews I’ve come acrossed.

Wrong pliers sent!!
Was sent a completely different pair of pliers! The pliers I was sent are the cheapest base model ones! Not the ones we paid for!! The model number isn’t even the same. Yet I was charged for the more expensive ones. Not at all happy! You can even see how it looks like they were switched out. The plastic packaging shows contour for the handles, yet the pliers sent do not fit the packaging!! Will be sending back!

Get the fish tape puller HD cutting, it's the best
Fish tape puller and HD cutter or gtfo! These do everything you need and then some from a lineman. I'd consider the knipex over these though, their stuff is much nicer for the same price

Best linesman pliers out there
Best linesman pliers out there. The crimper is nice, although not as good as a designated crimper. It cuts wire/cable great, twists wires perfectly, and the leverage is good. Its grip is perfect, like locking pliers almost. Even using it as a hammer, it is great. Only reason I bought these is because I got sick of using my old Klein's after blowing them up several times on live circuits and the cutter was more useful as a wire stripper. And the crimper was a major selling feature, which my old ones did not have. Not the best crimpers, but good enough when you really need them.p.s. I know working on live circuits is stupid, but you have no idea what I was doing, and it felt necessary at the time.

Spectacular
Construction electrician I used these for 5 years for 40hours a week, the only reason I had to buy another pair was I accidentally cut into live wire and blew a hole in the cutting part of my pliers, would’ve lasted another 3 years I’m sure. Fantastic tool.
