NKD Living Whole Almonds 1kg from Spain

I have been buying these almonds regularly for a couple of years, primarily for making my own almond milk. They are consistently good. I particularly like that the almonds come from Spain rather than California, meaning their production has far less of a negative impact on the environment.

I soak and skin these almonds then toast them. We dip into the almond jar several times a day. Almonds are so good for you. Great for making protein balls.

Most of the reviews complain about the nuts being tasteless, and wouldn't buy again. I tried an experiment and roasted a handful or two in my halogen machine for nine minutes, once cool, place in an airtight jar and leave for 24hrs.When your 24hrs are up you'll have a lovely almond aroma escape when you open the jar. After letting my partner try them, his opinion was "They are perfectly edible, tasty and crunchy". Roasting the nuts seems to improve them, I wouldn't dismiss the idea of buying this product out of hand. All I can suggest is try them roasted and see the difference between a few roasted nuts and unroasted nuts. No two nuts are the same they may have come from different or multi-suppliers, storage and time to dispatch may make a difference to the flavour.

Having visited Spain recently and had almonds whilst there I thought I would purchase these. Good price and a good size with no broken pieces but very little flavour and not particularly hard!Have started giving them to the squirrels who appear to love them.

For health reasons

Really disappointed with these almonds. Absolutely no taste whatsoever. Chewy and stale as opposed to fresh and crunchy. Would definitely not recommend these and would not buy again. Waste of money.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Great value for money.
