Febco 765 1/2" - 3/4" Bonnet Assembly

I purchased this bonnet assembly to fix a slight leak at the top of our Febco water valve. I purchased the exact correct product. We had a handyman with considerable plumbing experience to install the bonnet. About two days later, the bonnet developed a leak. We had the handyman come over to check the bonnet and leak and he found that in fact the gasket from the assembly was incorrectly sized. In response, i bought the entire assembly ($79). I had the handyman come back over to install the entire assembly. He just put on the bonnet with the new gasket and it worked perfectly, with no leaks.

Just read the reviews of those that bought the unbreakable ones... If this doesn't break than the metal housing may, causing a much greater expense.I made sure I was getting the correct size and I'm happy with it.

This package only includes the upper part of the PVB assembly, i.e. does not include the lower plunger portion with built-in gasket, so be sure to order the correct package. My mistake on order so if you only need the upper portion to fix your 3/4" PVB, this should work fine.

Very easy to install!Other than the old one being a pain to get out; putting the new one in took seconds. I attached this part to the bonnet first, and then just screwed it on. It works as it should now.** it's most likely that if you need to replace this piece, you also need to replace the "popper" as well!! This kit does NOT include the "popper". Which is all very easy to install. **

This set doesn't come with the poppet, if you have a slow leak there is a good chance that the washer on the poppet is damaged. This is a good replacement set otherwise.

Got me out of a jam. This, and a YouTube video, saved me hundreds on a Plumber bill!
