NOVA Lighter Electric Plasma Windproof Arc USB (Gun Metal Grey)

Grandpa told me to always carry a sharp knife and a good lighter with me at all times in case of an emergencyemergency, or a pretty lady needs a light. This thing is AWESOME. I used to carry a Zippo, after one year this thing will have paid for itself by not having to buy fuel. There is also 0 mess refilling. I simply plug it into the same charger my mobile phone users. It charges in just minutes. Besides being very dependable in all weather (especially rain and wind) It is very impressive when someone asks for a light. It's a little tough to light a cigar, as the arcs are very close together, but a cigarette and everything else sparks up just fine.

The nodes have worn after use and the charge doesn't last quite as long after lots of use, but lighter is incredibly useful. It is great in all conditions and lights things very quickly.

Neat product. Cool concept. The only downside is that you have to be REALLY close to the arc to get it to light anything. Otherwise, no fuel to keep re-loading. Consistent arc. Long lasting charge.

This is a gorgeous later! Coolness Factor off the charts. I love everything about it. One tiny flaw if you have pets. It really bothers cats and dogs. Something about the pitch. My cat runs out of the room every time I use it, and my friends dog also freaked out. Other than that perfect. :-) comes in a nice gift box. Will definitely be giving out to friends at Christmas.

I have been using this lighter for a week, and I have mixed feelings about it.- Charge lasted a week, which is not too bad. My previous single arc lighter lasts 2-3 weeks.- Lights cigarettes much easier than single arc.- Makes a sound when in use, but it's still much quieter than my single arc.- Safety feature stops working after a week (i.e. if you press the button with the lid closed, it is not supposed to engage, but now it does).- Ordered the gun metal version, but received a silver one with gold interior.Worried about the safety feature failing after a week, might return for a replacement.Update 9/28/2016- I've been using this lighter since 7/17. Today it's just a little over 60 days, and the button on the lighter no longer works. It was great when it worked, but I cannot imagine a product lifespan lasting just a little over 60 days. They only offer 60 days warranty, and maybe this is the reason for it.- Do not buy this lighter if you plan to invest in a long term solution to butane lighters, it does NOT last.

This lighter is solid and feels of great quality. I have not yet been able to see how long a charge last because it hasn't ran out yet. I don't smoke, I bought it simply because it was so novel. I use it for starting fires in my fireplace, candles for my wife etc. I also use it a lot to show it off. I tried to blow it out and couldn't. I can see this coming in handy for camping. I also have a portable set of solar panels so I'm good. I like this lighter very much.

Its great not having any fuel concerns. It charges quick, lasts all day (haven't tested how long it really lasts) the charging mechanism has a light indicator that turns off when its charged which is nice, you can charge it overnight without it getting hot since it turns off when its fully charged.It does take a bit of getting use to. Youll have to cross eyed aim the cigarette in the center, press the cigarette up against the electrodes, which will leave a tar residue and ash on the lighter, which is very difficult to clean. It will smell like an ashtray when opened, not when closed.It does light quickly, its interesting to do, its a fun lighter for others to use on a smoke break. The sound does irritate some but you only need it on for a brief second and its interesting to watch the plasma or whatever.Youll need to use it in only one position due to the angle of the electrodes you press the cig on, which are staggered properly for their intended use. not a big deal for me.Has its cons for sure, unsure of how long it lasts. If this thing can last its 100% worth it to stop sucking in butane fumes and dealing with fluid levels and refilling.My main concern is the buildup of tar and the smell of ashtray from said buildup. I use a q-tip with alcohol but the electrodes have a flimsy cover that catches cotton strands and they move a bit when cleaning. I fear that longer term use it might get stinky to where I don't want to use it or the tar builds up too much and it stops working, which it hasn't yet.If they could increase the gap size to where your cigarette doesn't need to press on the electrodes it think the cons would be much less significant. Though it is sort of annoying aiming a smoke in your mouth into the exact cigarette sized plasma X vs a quick light of a bic under your smoke.

It was great initially. Has a nice solid feel, strong plasma arcs. Played with it a few times to make sure it worked and then stowed it in our emergency go bags 2 months ago. My pulled it out last night to top off the battery and could smell burnt electronics when we opened the original factory box it came in. Of course it didn't work and opening it up reveals the circuit board was all charred. Since it was not being used and could in no way been activated, it must be a faulty design. I'm glad it didn't actually start a fire and burn my house down.
