Exactly what I needed
Model QS-1 arrived in one day. I looked at the electric models and decided for my small volume, the handcrank would be sufficient and a single roll of coins was all I would need. I like the fact that I could control the speed in which the coins were processed and watch for sorting errors. unfortunately the paper rappers didn’t show up but I had some from the bank. The coin wrappers I had were flat but they were fairly easy to install and I think the pre-formed round ones will make the process even easier.I hope the following may help you avoid some of the issues i read in comments from other reviews.ASSEMBLY. The only thing you need to do is attach the handle. The tiny screw needed to secure the handle wouldn’t fit through the hole until I opened it up a bit. A minor assembly inconvenience. you’ll need a very small Phillips screwdriver.COIN PROCESSING. I processed the coins without the paper wrapper in the collection tubes and put the wrapper on after the plastic collector was full. i found it was easier to discover when a coin went in the wrong slot. that didn’t happen very often, but it did occur maybe 3 or 4 times. I found the best way to keep from jamming was to use a slow steady cranking motion and put in only a handful of coins at the time in the feed hopper. Do not fill up the entire input tray. if in fact things get jammed up, a slight reversal of the handle normally solved the problem. The only complication was with foreign and US dollar coins. I was not smart enough to pre-check everything and I found about a dozen+ foreign coins and US dollar coins which for the most part caused a jam every time. Canadian dimes were able to sneak through. It can be a bit of a pain to remove those coins because there isn’t a way to disassemble the machine to get access to where the coins are. It’s basically a process of removing the collection tubes and turning the unit upside down and shaking it turning the crank and removing the offending coins by hand. another feature I liked was the overflow tray. it catches the extra coins and they can easily be placed in the plastic collector tubes or back in the input hopper. After a couple of tries I found the ideal cranking speed and never really had to place my left hand on the top of the unit as suggested. It was always pretty stable on the table top.SUMMARY. I processed about $300 in coins in about an hour. For the money, I don’t think you can beat this unit. I don’t understand many of the negative reviews but maybe some of their problems could have been resolved with a little patience. I am quite pleased and how this unit worked right out of the box. It certainly is a lot faster than processing these coins by hand and the low cost is a plus. I think the unit paid for itself with just this one use when compared to coin star.

Worth the money
Works great. I had a lot of change and I flew through it. It jammed once but it was easy enough to take apart and fix the jam and put back together.

Good and functional for what it does.
Sorts coins fine… problem is that you still have to count them when you’re done. Just finished rolling $750 in quarters and $110 in nickels. Maybe 50% of those were accurate. Fill to the top of the rolling paper/tube and you’ll usually end up over by 1 or 2 coins.Strictly as a sorter? Great!Anyway, I’ve gotta get some sleep… I’ve got dimes and pennies to roll tomorrow!
