THE BEST MICKEY JUPP COLLECTION IVE EVER HAD/SEEN....THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE 2021 REISSUE
this is a fantastic 3 cd/ one dvd collection as stated in the press release, this is the 2021 reissue not the 2014 slimline box style, these 3 discs & one dvd come in a huge fate 4 cd jewel case style box w/ the booket & a nice slipcover that goes over the case. first off i can say the remastering on these cds in 2021 came out fantastic!!! the 3 cds are loaded with legend classics as well as a lot of mickey jupps solo stuff from the 70s & 80s and the 1994 documentary is fantastic!!!!, i had a hard time finding this over here in the us so i got this from amazon uk, im sure glad i did, i liked the rockpalast collection by mickey jupp that was released 7 or 8 years ago, i like a lot of mikeys solo stuff but it was LEGEND i got turned on to some 40 odd years back and that was when i became a fan and would discover mickeys solo stuff as in a bit over 40 years a fan i cant remember mickey touring the us, not even when ROCKPILE where at the top of there game in 1979/80 ( THERE ABOUT)anyway that live dvd i got years back w/ the cd/dvd of that rockpalast german t.v show from the late 70s was great & i love all the LEGEND records & a lot of mickeys solo stuff, this is a great collection for any fan if you do not want to try to hunt everything down, you get the cream of the crop here in this set!!!!! anyway besides ROCKPILE as someone else stated here i also dare to say there may never have been a british pub rock scene/explosion from the early to late 1970s if it where not for artists like mickey was in the late 60s, outfits in the 70s like HELP YOURSELF, BEES MAKE HONEY, DUCKS DELUXE, TYLA GANG, DR FEELGOOD, THE HAMMERSMITH GORILLAS W/ JESSE HECTOR and my favorite THE LATE GREAT MICK GREEN who in 1977 plugged it in again and revamped the PIRATES and did a few very amazing killer records from 1977 through 79, even the 77 punks over there in the uk & a few here in the us embraced THE PIRATES as mick did a killer job w/ that, i feel mickey jupp is owed a lot from that genre as well.......... of coarse DAVE EDMONDS & NICK LOWE COME TO MIND AS WELL..................... again fantastic collection
