Worked great for my hope chest I made. Ease install. Close soft can adjust the speed. Lid locks up went open the lid stability opens. Looks great.

I used these closures for a toy box chest I built for my great grandson, the lid weighed 30 lbs. I use both closures and they worked perfectly, it held the lid in any open position. There will not be any smashed fingers as the lid will not slam down. The instructions, however, leave a lot to be desired.

Worked as expected. Free hinges were a bonus. Absolutely no install instructions.

I installed these on an old wooden toy box that is over 50 years old. The lid was very heavy when I had the toy box as a kid. My 1-year-old son now uses the same box with the hinge improvement, and it's prevented a slamming lid and helps him lift it with ease.Would be nice to have an extra screw or two for mounting as I broke one off while installing. Needed to pre-drill and didn't at first. May consider a screw upgrade for your install.

Need a microscope to read instructions. Even with a microscope the instructions are not good. Took me far longer to install than it should have. An hour and a half later I did get them installed and they do work. Lid is 24 X 48 X 1 " red cedar. Not a heavy wood and this is the max for these supports. Lid does not soft close all the way. They give up during the last two inches and there is a bang. Still, way better than the spring supports I was using. With clear instructions these would be a far better buy. Wouldn't buy them again.
