Six-year-old Dennis Mitchell is making a list and checking it twice. Thrice. And More. He aims to find the perfect gift for grumpy neighbor Mr. Wilson. It'll take a miracle to get it right. And a miracle is what he gets, thanks to a visiting angel who's on a mission to import the Christmas Spirit to someone who needs it in A Dennis the Menace Christmas.

A Holiday Classic
I really liked this movie a lot. To me it's a classic up there with A Christmas Carol starring Alastair Sim. Although A Christmas Carol is probably the greatest Christmas movie of any era.The story is sort of a variation of the Ebenezer Scrooge idea with Dennis' 'best friend' George Wilson providing the Scrooge character. In this movie they go back and look at George Wilson's childhood experiences. Young Georgie was a menace himself. He took his neighbor's collection of model boats and tried to float them in the guy's bathtub with catastrophic consequences.I found this interesting because the actor who plays George Wilson was Robert Wagner. Wagner was on board a boat with his wife Natalie Wood and actor Christopher Walken on the night Natalie went over the side and drowned.Over the years people have insinuated that Robert Wagner murdered Natalie Wood. But I watched a TV show about this question which I think aired on the REELZ channel. It may have been an episode of 'Autopsy'. Wagner and Natalie Wood drank too much for one thing. Plus Natalie was taking various medications which may have compounded her intoxicated state of mind. She could very well have become disoriented and just fell off the boat.In any case A Dennis The Menace Christmas is highly recommended. There's a lot about this movie I did not mention. I thought the story and concept was tremendous.A Christmas Carol (2012 release)The House Without a Christmas Tree

A cute movie!
I caught this movie on ABC Family and thought the little boy (Maxwell Perry Cotton) was adorable. So I decided to buy the DVD. I was surprised to see that the actress playing Martha Wilson is Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over The Coo Coos Nest, Flowers In The Attic). I will be watching this movie every Christmas with my Great-nieces and nephews for years to come!

Good update
I like this version, because it's updated to more modern times, and the kid is really good. I also like the way the film builds on a checklist of things Dennis is going to do for Mr Wilson, but everything goes wrong of course. Very colorful and definitely a Xmas favorite to see every year.

Funny Christmas movie.
A good Dennis the Menace Christmas movie. Many funny scenes in the movie and the story keeps moving, doesn't drag.

Must purchase this treasure!!!!!
My daughter claims to be too old to watch the Christmas movies of her early years. This past Christmas I ordered several movies that I was hoping to enjoy with her. We actually watched this movie during the week after Christmas- I had proclaimed this day to be a lazy day for us and in our home only Christmas movies are allowed until I go back to work after Holiday break. So I put this movie on and suddenly magic was flowing in our home. After a week of complaining about nothing but Christmas movies, she wanted more! We watched two movies and several Holiday shows, we even went to see Christmas lights that evening. It was an absolutely wonderful day and it all began with this movie. My daughter has now claimed it as her favorite!!!!

Disappointing, save your money!
My grandchildren and I watched an original 1959 episode of "Dennis the Menace" while we waited for "A Dennis the Menace Christmas" to download to my TIVO from Amazon Instant Video. ( Amazon Instant Video is great!) This was an awful movie in every way. It was dull, shrill, repetitive and certainly not funny. The 1959 black and white episode was delightful by contrast. The writers of today should take a look at how stories and children's comedy was done in the past. Save your money!
