What's up with that unfortunate book title? Good grief! Talk about poor choices and bad taste; this takes the cake. Yes, I do realize 'Sticky Fingers' is the name of a Rolling Stones [the band] album. And I guess that tenuous connection plus the prurient suggestion of oh gosh, snicker snicker, ya got some on your hands there, ha ha ha, was just too amazingly clever for this author and this publisher to resist. I had to withhold one star for this silly maneuver. What are we, in 3rd grade?O.k., enough whining on my part. The book is really good. I had read Jann Wenner's memoir last year, 'Like a Rolling Stone' and found that to be a good read but kept feeling there was a lot J W wasn't telling us or admitting to. So then, this 'unauthorized' version of the Jann Wenner, Rolling Stone magazine, and 60s 70s and 80s Rock and Roll story looked to be worth a look. Sure enough, it does fill in a lot of between the lines info re JW's own version of events. The Rock stars are all here in full complete zany detail. There are dozens of photos. Long live Rock and Roll! So, if the subject matter is of interest to you, the book is very much worth reading.

Excellent chronicle of the legendary magazine and it's equally fascinating originator.

After reading the book, it is my opinion that this magazine was at the beginning. when it was first published was indeed intended to get into the core of music, politics, movies, etcetera. But as what happens with almost everything that becomes commercial and generates tons of money, the publisher, and the executives become gritty and money becomes the only reason to make the product. This is a clear example of the big egos, lies, excesses, lost of the real vision, the illusion of becoming powerful and many more things that can be described of Mr. Wenner, who I should say I don't know personally so I am just going with the reading of the book and many other articles I read in the past. No doubt, human behavior is the most complicated area in any life of a human being . May the old Rolling Stone R.I.P.

Bought for my husband for Christmas and he says it is very good.
