Terrible. Stay away. Not Good. Not Happy
Out of all the professional paints i have used, this is the worst. I wanted to paint my hand rail for a steel look. It looks like a crude toy now. I properly sanded and primed every surface and at every turn, i kept liking this paint less and less. Im now fed up with it and wish i had never bought it.1) its barely metallic looking. it looks metalic in the jar, on my brush, but on the hand rail it just looks like a gray gloss. From afar and up close. It just doesnt look like a real "metallic" paint.2) the application is terrible. I always paint with a roller to get the most "brushless" appearance, this paint is bubbly and thick. Using a variety of paint rollers, the only "finish" i could get is a 'bubbled-sponge' look. unpopped bubbles making a atrociously rough surface on my project. Horrible. I guess ill have to use a brush, and i hate using brushes. Even with my brush, the brush strokes are clearly visible and seriously take away from the metal look. it looks very cruely done.3) Priming left me worse off than not priming. As i painted a hand rail, the section that connects to the metal rails does not have to be painted, as it will be covered. i didnt prime this area as a result, and the brush strokes of the metallic paint that pass over primed and unprimed wood look 5x better on the unprimed wood. Im now on my 5th coat and still, between some very fine brush marks, you can see my primer shine through. That sucks, just extra work i was instructed to do which then made me have to do more coats for a worse final project.4) drying times are totally off. Dry in 1 hour? no way. Pressure on my painted surface a day after caused the paint to sink into itself a few milimeters. Now, the indents are totally unfixable, as the paint is not thick enough to mask them. Dry time means try to touch, not that the project is ready for use.5) Impossible to get a good finish around corners while using a brush. The direction of the brush stroke changes the way the paint shines, like a microfiber couch or blanket. That makes it literally impossible to have the shine be uniform on a cube, it is not physically possible paint my project without conflicting reflective looks.6) Thick. Paint is drips, regardless of my attention to detail, it was impossible for me to finish without my edges apprearing to have drips at the corners. Given the difficulty of matching brush stroke reflection patterns, fixing these only causes them to happen somewhere else.7) I could go on.Maybe i expected too much out of this--too much metal realism or metal paint resemblance, but i really feel sold short. This paint sucks. My project took like 10 hours of scraping old varnish, sanding, priming, painting, and repainting, and im really really disappointed with the results. Almost embarrassed truth be told--it looks that bad. I do good work, im patient with my work, but this paint really has me irritated, it just did not turn out well. At all. I feel the only way i could have gotten the finish i wanted, would be to have sprayed it on with a paint spray gun. But given the Modern Masters who manufacture this said it can be brushed, rolled, or sprayed led me to believe i did not have to to attain a nice finish. Now im left with a cheesy looking hand rail, that will take me another few hours to scrape the paint from, sand, and stain. What a mess this paint has caused me.

Unleash your inner VanGogh
I wanted to paint our spiral staircase in our living room to give an updated industrial modern look...it was a tired 30 year old white paint. I am so glad I stumbled on this paint! I really wanted it to look like metal not like grey paint...and wow! It really does!I started out with a paint brush I had but learned that a high quality brush made a difference. The paint is very thick and it does level but the better brush mostly eliminated brush marks. This color pewter I chose goes well with stainless steel accents I have elsewhere. It has a wonderful sheen and looks great under every level of lighting. I love it so much I painted our track lighting too!I encourage anyone to use your imagination and give this a try...I would think there are no limits to what these metallic paints could re-invent!

LOVE this!!
goes on great and just the metallic look I wanted, had to add a little darker paint because I wanted it to match some light switch covers on my kitchen backsplash, but overall wonderful product, mixed well with other paint

It's nice and metallic
I love the way it turned out. Used the textured technique with paint brush. Used a primer first, no sanding. Added knobs from Amazon as eell6

Very shimmering!
Great paint and very shimmering. It definitely needs a few counts if you are doing something with a lot of cracks and grooves to get the paint into. The color is more true silver than a pewter color but still pretty.

Very impressed!
Love this! I used this to paint the base of our kitchen island. Came out better than expected and I just keep staring at it when I walk by. Very easy to use although it did take a good three coats. The color is fantastic. Brush strokes do show so if that’s an issue you might want to use a foam roller.

I love modern masters metallic paints
I love modern masters metallic paints, but I hate ordering them because amazon does not include it's opacity in the description nor do they have a selection for it. It a real bummer trying to get the right paint as it is a crap shoot when you order it. I love Amazon, but this is one of it's failures. The paint is excellent if you can get what you want.
