The best furniture purchase I ever made
This is a really excellent product -- the best for the price I have ever made. Because we live in an older home, we needed two of them, one upstairs and another downstairs, one brown, the other black. They are a godsend. It takes a while to assemble, but the instructions are really good, and the end product is a solid piece of furniture, attractive, with solid drawer on good metal rollers. The ONLY thing that you need to fix is the height of the clothes rack -- it's unnecessarily low and will allow some clothes to drag if you don't raise it. But that's a minor fix I hope they adjust at the factory. Otherwise, you will have to look very hard to find a piece of furniture that is its equal for the price.

Assembly as expected; nice addition to my home
I moved into a home with no first floor closet so bought this to be a coat closet. Note that the hanging length, due to the drawer below, does not easily allow for really long coats, but it is fine for jackets and my midi length trench. But for the fact that I forgot to attach the ballast (I had help to lay it on its face - on a blanket - and put these on last), it was a typical Sauder product with well organized parts, detailed directions (including video - that I did not use) and lots of steps. It took me the better part of an afternoon but I went very slowly and cleaned up (lots of foam and cardboard pieces) as I went. The product was in great shape out of the box and it arrived earlier than the estimate. I was able to do nearly all of it by myself but I have put together a lot of similar things in the past.I did have to have help adjusting the hinges because the bottoms of the doors rubbed after the initial install. I suggest if possible using two people to screw on the door hinges - one to attach and one to hold the doors in place. As assembled, this is very heavy so will probably stay in the home longer than I do (I am in a rental) but I imagine it will be a welcome addition as it provides essential coat storage next to the front door. I have hats and scarves on the upper shelf and in the drawer - there is a good bit of storage room in the drawer. I did not bolt to the wall but I would consider this if I was not in a rental.

Every little part requires assembly
We needed a closet to complete a bedroom in a very small condo and didn't want to spend a lot. The size was important and it had to look good, not be anything fancy, just hold a few clothes hangers on a rod. A drawer was an afterthought, yet turned out to be an asset. We liked that this was made in the USA, were happy it came from Ohio. Surprisingly, this small wardrobe weighed a ton in the shopping box but weighed nearly as much out of the box. At almost 130 pounds, be prepared if you need to move it yourself and it doesn't hurt to be kind to your delivery person when the package arrives. Nothing separates the parts in the box, so hope yours travels quickly to avoid damage. Ours was on the road for only a couple of days and there was some minor breakage at board edges which we decided to live with due to time constraints. Out of the box, we saw that most parts were labeled with lettered stickers and everything was identified in the manual. This manual looked good and was very complete. My only gripe was that the hardware was labeled in the plastic compartmentalized bag but identified with different numbers in the manual. This became confusing at first but since I chose to read the description of the piece instead of a number or letter, it was fine. All parts were included but there was no extra bit or piece, screw or nail included.Assembly was straightforward, just take your time and stay away from power tools to avoid damaging the particleboard. Also watch out for sharp pieces or you might end up with a gouge in your palm as I did. Follow the instructions to avoid an off balanced wardrobe. It took two of us about an hour and a half from opening the box to hanging the clothes and filling the very smooth sliding drawer. The interior shelf can be excluded if your clothes need extra length, but we are using it in ours. There are ballast boards on the bottom of the piece and they really do help keep this from tipping or becoming top heavy. All in all, we are satisfied, just hope it holds up longer than the warranty. I'm attaching a photo of the assembled piece as well as a couple of close ups of problematic boards. They aren't major, just disappointing out of the box.

Looks sharp! Easy assembly.
Fits my small room nice. Looks sharp and doesn't dominate the small space. Not super sturdy, but sturdy enough. Assembly was a breeze. No missing or damaged parts, and similar hardware was organized into separate pouches. Makes it a lot easier to find what you are looking for. Good price.

Colapsed catastrophicly while assembling
I ordered 2 of these, one was damage on delivery, of course it waa the 2 pieces on the bottom of the stack. Sauder makes it easy to get replacement parts, at least. The second one colapsed as I was assembling it, destroying itself in the process. Without the backing put on, which is simply stiff cardboard, the top, bottom and floor of the closet space are not enough to support it's weight.I have no faith in this cabinet to not colapse under it's own weight when fully assembled.

Only as good as the person who builds it
The unit was damaged when received similar to most of the complaints here, however, don't return to Amazon. You'll just get another damaged unit (unless you're lucky). My advice - call the manufacturer - Sauder. It's a no-brainer, they got right on the call, asked me the model and lot number (on the instructions along with their phone number) and THEY WILL SEND YOU ANY PART YOU WANT, FREE. Sorry for yelling. They shipped perfect parts with absolutely no damage. In just 3 days, I received the replacement parts (they were the 2 large sides). I followed the instructions to a T and the unit is great, solid (as you're going to get for this type of furniture) but sturdy enough to be functional and aesthetically pleasing. Only as good as the person who builds it and believe me, I'm no handyman. Just know how to follow instructions and happen to be the lucky owner of my very own screwdriver.

Looks ok so far but had to order a few major replacement parts due to damage.
It seems easy to install, I’m hoping my replacement mt parts that were damaged come soon. The color was a little darker than I though but seems fine.
