Following on from the '1976 EP' and the 'Age Of The Jaguar EP', which has drawn praise from DJs including Annie Mac, M.A.N.D.Y, Dubfire, Rayko, Dana Bergquist & Tensnake, here comes Toomy Discos's debut album 'Bedroom Tricks'. The full album is charged with infectious nudisco grooves countered by ominous and emotional synth notes. Based in Buenos Aires, Toomy Disco (real name Mariano Iliuta) represents another success story in the rise of bedroom electronica in recent years. This full album was recorded entirely at Mariano's home with relatively basic computer software and, while he is still only 22 years old, the resulting music is every bit as compelling as contemporaneous efforts from like-minded electronic artists Daft Punk, Mylo, MSTRKRFT, Alan Braxe & Tensnake. Bedroom Tricks helps to cement Toomy's status as a leading light in the next generation. In his own words: 'I've been interested by composition for a few years as it suggests some exceptional electronic sounds and the melodies and chords producing an emotional aspect. In a nutshell, my point is to create, to work sounds and share them with music lovers' This album would not be out of place in an Aeroplane set. It has a nice sounding dfa-esque groove with touches of Alan Braxe, Fred Falke & Metro Area sprinkled in certain sections. This is an album which you all need to be hearing, it's so funky, cool and fresh.
